I saw him in concert and got to meet him and get a picture with him. I have been to 14 concerts annually for him and he has never ceased to amaze me. He remembers me and we wave to each other every time because the concert I go to has around 50 people in it. He is a blessing in this troubled sinful world.

Shawn Obrien wrote I Can Only Imagine in Spanish. It was written in March of 1997 when Shawn was going through withdrawals from heroine. He had a five and a half year addiction to heroine and he was a bit delusional. But he got comfort from singing this song in Spanish.

The Canadians talk frequently about imagination, so the song was culturally appropriate. My previous husband, Shawn Obrien, wrote I Can Only Imagine on March 22, 1995. He was going through severe withdrawals from heroin after a five and a half year addiction. Shawn had to wait a week before he was admitted into drug treatment at Texas Tech.

Shawn had posed for Playboy and had a thought monitor which couldn't be removed.
