My son has completed only one semester of high school but his report card displays 6 gpa’s. Looking at the wrong gpa you might consider him a possible valedictorian rather than b plus kid. I’m sure that every college knows this but it’s crazy how every local high school in my area displays at least a 3.4 average gpa. So fake.
Regardless of what those courses are considered at and by your high school, every college will classify such courses according to their own internal standards, which may not align with your school's framing of the situation. I would never take a Computer Science course in lieu of a traditional Math course; I'd only take it in addition to a traditional Math course, as most selective American college are seeking applicants who've taken strong traditional Math courses for all four years of high school.
