Ivory Lake Hikoi 

They call it arduous. They call it horrendous. And so we figured we would go anyways...
It's a critically acclaimed 'Hut of the Year' from 2016, originally built as part of a glaciation survey in the 1960’s - one of the first surveys in the world to graphically show the effect of global warming. This beacon of such a tropical oasis lured us into the jungle mist that is, the west coast. We set off in pursuit of polishing off the year at Ivory Lake Hut and emerged six days later from a brilliantly, brutal and bona fide adventure.
Although Ivory Lake Hut gets most of the street cred, the amalgamation within these 10minutes showcases elements of the absolute majesty that make up the Waitaha Valley and Tuke River alike.
