The thing about this is that it truly feel like DL wants to say this and do this, I don't doubt there is some PR putting in to this to make it smoother or at the very least Leena had some input into this. But this feels genuine and resonated with me, it calls back to when I start watching league from S4. All those memories and moments inevitably comes to an end, but he is still the same kid/man. The fame, wealth and Leena didn't tainted him like some other guys.

Disagree that imports didn’t work at all, at least at the top end. Our best international results, making semis with C9 and beating the defending world champs at MSI with TL, were carried by imports. There are a lot of imports that just come here to retire, but also a decent chunk that came to top teams with a commitment to win. And even recently, basically all the top teams have top imports? TL had 3 (4 earlier in the year), C9 had 4, NRG had 2. If NRG, a team with a bare majority NA players, counts as an “exception” that’s kinda proving the point. It’s possible for motivated imports to have elevated the region competitively while being bad for the LCS long-term (in terms of competition, finances, and viewership)

They were insane at worlds and then the team just disintegrated, like every time we have a good team, people start bargaining with players and it goes to shit immediately. The same thing happened to G2 after they won MSI. The team just disintegrated and then the new team was shit. If Faker and Guma left T1 after their first regional win, T1 would suck too. They did suck without Faker this year.

The reality is that there has never been a worlds format robust enough to call making groups an accomplishment. You either are so good that there wasn't a chance you could lose and the tournament shows it or you have spaghetti like DRX winning. No team from NA even scratched that level.

Just want to say IWD, is a jackass IRL, but on that note the best shot NA had was S1 or those C9 teams
