SAS: More useful information in under 15 minutes than some other gun channels can deliver in twice the time. Nicely done.

What is it with some people and "long" videos about guns? Every vid, on every gun I've seen there are some ADD fellas like you. I want the details, and most indepth opinions. Short vids are short on info.

I have one from 03-04 timeframe in .45. Back when it was still imi instead instead of iwi. They were called the baby eagle then and were imported by magnum research. Everything you said for the 9mm holds true for the .45 as well. They're really nice pistols and it cost all of $400. And the gun shop owner threw in two boxes of ammo as well
@TheDrinkyDude
@TheDrinkyDude 4 года назад
How do you know yours is 03-04? I picked up a former IDF Jericho 941 F and I wish they kept records I'm guessing early 90s to middle 90s, it says Jericho 941 F, ISRAELI MILITARY INDUSTRIES LTD (IMI) on the slide

@@TheDrinkyDude just a guess as I technically don't know when it was made. Bought it brand new in 2004 though, and I'm guessing it wasn't sitting somewhere for 7+ months before the local gun store picked it up.

Actually, the IMI/IWI Jericho Pistols are based off of the Tanfoglio design Cz75 Clones and many parts will interchange. Tanfoglio has and still does supply many parts for the Israeli production of these Pistols.

There are alternative parts for this pistol but the info is hard to come by. It took me a lot of time to figure some of these out so I'll list a few. Meprolight makes two types of night sights, one pair like the ones that come stock and one pair with a shelf for single hand use. Hogue makes several pairs of grips from checkered wood to g10. CZ 75 mags do work, they might not lock open at first but after roughly 100 rounds they won't have problems. Dawson has a fiber optic front sight marked as desert eagle and maybe baby eagle (I don't remember) there's not much indication but the .120x.115 inch sight is the one for the current production Jericho. EAA carries Tanfoglio parts some of which are compatible, all I know for sure is the witness hammers work.

I also decided to go with the 941 FS (3.8" slide). It is heavy but super BALANCED, so the weight isn't bothersome or unwieldy. They were smooth out of the box and got smoother after first trip to the range. Not one single malfunction using various factory ammo. It might seem unusual, but I've carried the 941 FS in a high ride pancake holster on a thick 1.5" leather belt, comfortably even though, for obvious reasons it's not my EDC. The hump on the lower portion of the backstrap creates a pocket for your palm under your thumb, which for me helps force the web of my hand as high up as possible into the beavertail. It's like gripping it assertively and feels positive with lots of control. It's sized for medium to larger hands and too large for some other family members. My experience has been so positive, I'm now looking at getting the new Jericho Enhanced a.k.a. Jericho II with 3.8" slide, model J941PSL9-II. This new model has changeable backstraps to fit a wider range of shooters. These are excellent pistols.

@@duck-n-cover477 thank you for your insight on the 941. I am hoping to get one soon. There is not to much information in RU-vid on this gun. Yet the videos you do find are mostly positive, specially the steel frame 941 in it's various configurations. I live in Honduras and I am worried I'll have trouble finding accessories for this gun yet I am looking for something reliable and reasonably priced and for that reason I am willing to wing it. 👍🏽

Great review! I have the Jericho .45 and I absolutely love it. I've put 900 rounds of Lawman FMJ through it and a box of Speer Gold Dot (20 rounds) Personal Defense ammo. I've had zero issues with it. This is my first .45 pistol and very happy I bought it. The trigger has great reset (distinct) and little recoil for a .45.

Excellent Review! Also note that the IWI Jericho Pistol is of a modified Tanfoglio Design and some Tanfoglio Witness Parts will interchange. Tanfoglio helped IWI develop this Pistol. Also note that the MRI Baby Eagle version of this Pistol comes with a Decocker Safety, should that be desired. Also note that Turkey, which is a Mid East Country, manufactures some very nicely made Cz75 Clones, and has quite an Industrial Manufacturing base.

I have an original IWI Magnum Research Baby Eagle in .45. It is by far my favorite hand gun of all of my hand guns. I am trying to find a holster to conceal carry it. Having a hard time. I think the Baby Eagle III is the same size, but I don't want to purchase until I know for sure. It is a heavy gun, but the quality is unmatched. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't feed HP as well as ball. But with .45 it isn't that big of a deal.

I just finally saw a Jericho in person at my local shop and was able to hold it in my hands and go through it. It was a plastic version unfortunately but I figured it still was a good example to base my opinion on. It did feel at home in my hand thought not nearly as nice as any of my CZs. It also didn't seem anywhere near as nicely machined as my CZs. I was disappointed. I have been really looking forward to buying a 941R as my next pistol but since seeing that plastic one my dreams were really shot down. Is it possible that it wasn't a good example? It really did leave a lot to be desired with it's finish and machining especially when compared to my CZs.

Jerico or 941 is a single action ...and it is carried cocked and locked. Every round is fired in the same when the safety is removed. The baby eagles are a different weapon ...they have a standard action like a beretta with a decocker . First round after decocked and safety removed is double action...every round after that is single action. If you fire without engaging the safety after clambering every round is fired in the same way. One advantage to the decker action vs the single action is that you can re strike the same round if you encounter a hard primer without clambering a new round and changing your grip. I carry a 941 cocked and locked...and a baby eagle chambered hammer down safety on. They both have a firing pin block...and I've carried them in this way for years. You have to be mentally aware which one you are carrying ,if you own both.... because the initial response with the first round is different between the two pistol's actions. So train with the one you choose to carry for muscle memory . Plus the rifling you can't see is called "polygonal rifling" older baby eagles have it ...newer ones have six gooves. I believe the polygonal is more accurate

As you see in the video, it can be safely and easily manually decocked. With the safety you get more carry options, cocked & locked, or decocked. With the decocker, you just get decocked and a long, heavy first pull. I prefer the safety and the option of having a light & consistent trigger pull that cocked & locked offers. I have a CZ75 P01 Omega, and a Jericho 941 both great guns, but If I had to choose just one, it would be the Jericho.

Why does everyone say the Jericho looks like the CZ75? If by that people mean they both have hammers, triggers, and a barrel then yeah sure they have similarities. Every gun has similarities. And yeah I get that it's based on the CZ but aside from some of the internals and the line that flows from the dust cover around the trigger and into the grip, I don't think they look very similar.. But maybe it's just me
@westcoastwarriorsarchive7929

If you compare how the slide looks to a cz they bot have the low sillouette slide that rides inside the frame. As far as I know thats the thing that people are comparing. They also have fairly similar internals as jericho is modeled after the cz 75 pistols. So they have some similarities if you are just looking at major features. But I agree they dont look that similar. And I think the jericho looks way cooler than the cz 75.

I’ve got a current production model (941 F9). Have had it for a month and a half as I write this, got about 400 rounds through it so far, have cleaned it three times (I like to keep it clean because I use it for security at my synagogue). With FMJs it runs with boring reliability. No problems whatsoever. With hollow points, when the round count gets north of fifty since it was cleaned, a round will occasionally hang up on the feed ramp; a tap to the left side of the slide usually is all that is needed to encourage it to go into battery. So far I am only using the supplied IWI mags. I’ve heard they run a little better with Mec-Gar CZ-75B mags. I have two of those on order; I’ll see if they make even that little problem go away.

Did he just scratch that slide getting the slide stop out? Additionally, he repeats saying it's a highly refined copy of the Cz75. Well I own a recently made post-Soviet block Cz75 B and a Cz75 P-01 which are as highly refined as my IWI Baby Desert Eagle and Tagfoglio TA-90. Communist era Cz products may be less than refined, Modern Cz guns are right up in quality with SIG, Walther an Beretta.

What is the finish on the frame and slide? Noticed it has a dark grey color like parkerizing or some type of epoxy or ceramic paint. But I wondered if it's a version of nitride/QPQ.
@owenswanagan2446
@owenswanagan2446 4 года назад
Duck-n-Cover I actually own this one myself , the quality of the Jericho frame is a nitride finish that is impeccable, it’s so excellent in quality, after firing over extended periods , it remains flawless in its finishing , no marring no burrs , again you won’t be disappointed in your purchase on this one,
@duck-n-cover477
@duck-n-cover477 4 года назад
@@owenswanagan2446 I asked IWI US, who replied, "the finish is proprietary". They won't confirm or deny what the actual finish is. Some lower serial numbers on these with the frame-mounted safety, appear to have a nitrided slide and frame. Higher serial numbered units appear to have a black phosphated slide and a Cerakote-like painted frame. I don't know if this is correct, but I do know the finish doesn't match from the low million hundreds to the million thousand plus. The Jericho in this video is an even earlier 8000 range serial number. It might be different from the range of serial numbers I've seen. All that said, these are GREAT pistols!

That loading thing is just a pistol magazine loader. Uplua makes some and they are probably the best $30 you can spend for shooting pistols.

You keep bringing up the quality of the machining, but with israel not being a large country, they had to of bought the manufacturing machines from another country. Any idea as to who they bought their machines from? Toshiba, Haas, Heller, Mazak...
