Jürgen Michaelis played a live performance for us during his workshop at SchneidersLaden. He brought the unique Resonator Neuronium to play alongside the Alpha Base and T-Resonator. After that he talked us through the interesting construction of and relation between the T-Resonator and Resonator Neuronium and answers questions from the audience. This time in German.

neuronium: brilliant idea, but nearly immediatly shows the weakness: you'll get very quickly (just) brutal distortion. Other than that - Jomox really delivers quality.

Hate to be unoriginal but it would've been nice if he sidechain compressed the neuronium to the alpha to make it sound more cohesive

Jomox is quality. I still don't understand what the Resonator Neuronium or why it's purportedly worth $4600 (only one for sale I see, used), since it basically sounds like combinations of filtered noise droned, but..ok.

You pay for the name invention. Imagine the wasted amount of time needed to come up with a name like Neuronium. The "Resonator" part wasn't that difficult tho :)

Well, the Resonator Neuronium is pretty much the only synth I'd pay 5 grands for. Theoretically, since I don't have the 5 grands. :) But I found a cheap solution for my needs: Arturia's MicroFreak with the T-Resonator. Fun as hell!

I'd like to hear a Moogerfooger in the mix here. Curious whether Jurgens plays to clubs in Berlin, or is content to hang back in academic, utilitarian surroundings. I like the way, similar to Kraftwerk, he uses the drum machine sparingly.

Apart from innovation, you pay for 36 attenuators, 36 attenuverters, 6 analog filters, 18 channels of sequencing, 6 digital oscillators, 7 analog ADSR envelopes, 8 Analog VCAs, 12 6-channel mixers and 2 3-channel mixers. These are limited to 20 pieces, and Jürgen builds each piece by hand.
