Couldn't agree more. I loved the Falcon Theme the first time I heard it on Jimmy Kimmel, and I loved Rey's theme when I heard it in theaters. But initially I didn't quite care for the rest of it, at least not compared to the other great scores he'd done. Going back again and again and again, I love it all, oh so much!

In my opinion it's one of his lesser Star Wars scores. From what I've heard he was having health issues prior to writing the score and he didn't have a much time to write it as he normally does. To me the Force Awakens score seems more "raw" than his other works; like he didn't have the time to iron out all of the kinks and smooth things over. With that being said, even John Williams at his worst is still gonna put out a quality product and while I think it's a lesser Star Wars score, as a stand alone work of music it's still phenomenal compared to most film scores out there today.

Had the same experience, I think the Last Jedi's score is great too and makes me appreciate Force Awakens score even more. Rey's Theme, March of the Resistance, Kylo Ren's Theme, and Jedi Steps all feel right at home now to me with those two movies and I think together with Episode IX the sequel scores will be iconic to the new generation.

Who on earth thinks that? How could you possibly not think these are the greatest scores ever?

AKABoondock19 It is Williams' weakest score, SW score at the very least, but I don't think it is his fault, but the result of Abrams ultimately uninspiring, albeit commercially succesful, film.

very true, as much hate as the prequels get, they inspired John to make such amazing music.

Indeed, I believe he produced some wonderful music for the prequels.

Calling Jesse Ah the typical bandwagon gotta hate on anything that the mainstream media hates on, I shall not allow myself to enjoy a movie that is great, I must find anything to bitch about. I honestly really feel sad for you that you can't let yourself enjoy great things, it's a real shame :(

It wasn't "great"

A film that raises more questions than it answers is a good movie, most of the time. The Force Awakens is NOTHING like A New Hope. The Phantom Menace was more like A New Hope than TFA ever was. Is it a safe movie? Sure, but it had to be. They'll take more risks with their next endeavor in The Last Jedi.

***** - Great Acting - Characters are relatable with tons of personality - Plot is engaging and fun - Action is well directed and always keeps our characters in the foreground - Music was fun and catchy - Good, honest humour - BB-8 is awesome - Great use of film techniques including sound, lighting, camera angles, mise en scene etc... - Villain is greatly developed and complex - Most of the other characters are well developed - Great, timeless effects (minus some CGI) - Great atmosphere. - Great world building - Great and interesting character motivations and character interactions - Interesting, funny or just great dialogue - Great pacing, letting the action be part of the story and tell it for us - Great emotional drama - Great editing - Beautiful cinematography - Brilliantly lit I can go on.

So can I. it was terrible. the worst Star Wars film ever with lazy script writing, it was just a rehash of a new hope. ANOTHER DEATH STAR, plans in a droid, desert planet, the Falcon gets caught in a tractor beam.......I can go on for hours. Watch the You Tube rants.....it was fucking awful
