I contacted J&L about their Oil Separator Cans and the proper running of the hoses for the intake and exit from the can. J&L responded to me and informed me that depending on the vehicle the baffle/filter can be on either side of the can. J&L moves the baffle/filter inside the can so on one application the intake can be next to the letter "O" on the can and on another application the intake can be next to the letter "C" on the can. Of all the videos I have watched where J&L/JTL were involved the intake has always been on the side of the can with the letter "O".
So be careful and do not go by any video as your application might be the opposite of what is shown on the video.
I think J&L would be bette served to just pick a side of the oil separator can as the intake and the other side as the exit and print "In" and "Exit" next to the corresponding hose.
At any rate just look inside the top of the can and confirm which side the baffle/filter is on in the Oil Separator Can you have and remember that the PCV valve always runs to the side of the can with the baffle/filter and the side without a baffle/filter always runs to the intake manifold.
In my opinion this is an area where J&L could make more clear and avoid confusion by making the Oil Separator Cans standard instead of moving the baffle/filter from one side to the other.
The instructions could also be much better because they will just say the pcv valve connects to the side with the letter "O" or if the filter is on the other side they will just say the pcv valve connects to the side with theca with the letter "C", they never say anything about the baffle/filter in the instruction sheet that I have.
Now that you know J&L moves the baffle/filter from one side of the can to the other depending on the application, make sure you triple check the can so you are sure to connect the PCV Valve hose to the side with the baffle/filter.
