You could read such books such as Percy Jackson, Rick Riordan has two books stating Greek Heros and Greek gods. Ted ED (the RU-vid channel) also has many ancient greek myth videos and they are so simple and fun to watch!

if you look up some of the authors from the greek or roman times youll find the odyssey and others to read. or just any theology text about the greeks

i gotchu! I'll just explain the basics bc otherwise this comment would be way too long, but I'll name the myth so you can look it up for more details :) Achilles' Heel- basically this half-god dude, Achilles, his mom dipped him in the River Styx by the heel to make him invulnerable. Except for his heel, since she was holding that. Basically he went to fight in the Trojan war, was the best fighter on the field bc no one could hurt him, and eventually died by getting shot in the heel. (modernly we use it to describe a weakness) River Styx- A river in the Underworld basically Sisyphus- Tricked and chained up the god of death so no one died for like a week. As punishment he's forced to forever push a boulder uphill, when he gets close to the summit, it rolls back downhill Echo & Narcissus- This dude Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection (actually where we get the word narcissus from!) and this girl Echo fell in love with him but could only repeat things she just heard (also where we get the word echo) so she could never speak to him, only loving from afar Odysseus & the Sirens- Odysseus was on a sailing trip for a quest and his men were seduced by sirens, basically hot fish women who use their looks and beautiful voice to lure sailors to their death so the sirens can eat them The Fates- The all knowing beings. They control the past, present, and future, so everything that happens is meant to happen Icarus- Icarus and his dad escaped prison using wings of wax to fly away. Icarus ended up flying too close to the sun and his wings melted, causing him to fall to his death Medusa- A woman with snakes for hair. If you looked in her eyes you turned to stone Kore- The name of Persephone before Zeus renamed her after she married Hades bc she refused to listen to her mother or Zeus Athena and Arachne- Arachne claimed she was better at weaving than the goddess of it, Athena. So there was a contest, and Arachne came the winner. Pissed off that a mortal beat her, Athena turned Arachne into a spider, to weave for the rest of her life (where we get arachnophobia from) Atlas- A titan forced to hold the weight of the world on his shoulders, literally Necter & Ambrosia- The food and drink of the gods, respectively Lyre- Just an Ancient Greek instrument, kinda looks like a mini harp tbh Prometheus- The titan Prometheus stole fire from Zeus to give to mortals, and was punished by Zeus to have his intestines pecked out for eternity by birds Trojan Horse- During the Trojan war, the Greeks needed to get inside Troy but the Trojans held them back. The Greeks hatched a plan to make it look like they left the war and went back to Greece but left a wooden horse as a tribute to the god of the sea. Trojans said "Lets take their offering for ourselves! :D" so they took the horse inside and in the dead of the night, the Greeks leapt out of the horse and basically won the war (it's why some viruses are called Trojan Horses) Pandora's Box- Pandora was given a box by Zeus with instructions to never open it, but she was too curious. When she opened it, she let war, lust, anger, basically all the bad shit in the world out, but she closed it in time to keep hope inside, to keep hope alive Minotaur & the Labyrinth- A queen was cursed to fall in love with a bull, and when she had it's child it was a half man half bull monster. It would only eat human flesh so the king locked it in a labyrinth and sacrificed 14 children to feed the beast every year Orpheus & Eurydice- Orpheus was a lazy bum of a husband, just singing all day, so Eurydice made a deal to work in the Underworld. Orpheus came down to get his wife back, and moved Hades so much he let the two walk out as long as Orpheus kept his faith that Eurydice would follow and he couldn't look back. Orpheus can't hear her footsteps and he reluctantly looks back to see Eurydice WAS following him, and he condemns her to the Underworld Heracles- You might know him by Hercules, like from the Disney movie. But not, because that shit was inaccurate as h e l l. The trials were to prove he could marry this princess, like slay the Nemian Lion among other things King Midas- Dude was a greedy bastard and wished everything he touched turned to gold. One of the gods granted him his wish, but Midas eventually needed to eat but everything he touched turned to gold, and then he touched his daughter on the arm or smt and turned her to gold Paris- The dude to basically start the entire Trojan War bc he stole this one king's wife, dw the wife left willingly damn this way still long as hell, but there were a lot of references and I assumed you knew nothing, so here ya go!! :)
