to everyone saying it doesn't make sense a guy singing about his love for artemis, isn't that the point?! A one sided love so extreme that the other is literally compared to a virgin goddess the one that will never be able to love the singer back
Artemis had no reason to choose to be a virgin goddess (unlike Hestia who chose so because of the drama about who she would marry and Athena for her studies), she is the only goddess who bathes with nymphs, is too cruel to every guy (although Acteon should have known better), and the ancient Greek consider women resessive and men desessive meaning what counted as a virgin was a woman who had not desessive intercourse...meaning she could frick a girl and still be considered a virgin. And considering she has literally no reason to become a virgin goddess...let face it, she gay and she discovered the greatest loophole in history. So, this is a little weirder when you consider that, but I love the song. It may new favorite
wait do you guys realize this isn’t about artemis, he’s using her as a metaphor for his dead gf, christina grimmie, and saying that his memory of her keeps him going but he’ll never be able to get her back… do you guys realize most music is a metaphor or representation of something not to be taken literally lol
Why do you think they take it literally? Most people here realize this song isn't about Artemis herself, as the lyrics even implies. Not everyone knows the story behind the song, so interpretations might differ but isn't this what art is about? To everyone a song can mean something different and often "the true meaning" is never even confirmed anyways. This is obviously a chanel that is dedicated to music that references mythology/fits certain myths, so here are mostly mythology buffs looking for that and discussion. I don't see anything wrong in that 🤷🏻♀️

Artemisa, your channel is so beautiful! Could you pleaseeee do a lyric video of the song "Trojans" by Atlas Genius and "Sisyphus" by Andrew Bird? Great, GREAT songs!!!!!!
This was awesome-the space he gets in the mix and all the specificity of lyrics! Please do a video for Labyrinth by Asaf Avidan for the extreme opposite of sound.
I rewrote it to fit the story of when Icarus flew to close to the sun but I made it ✨gay✨ And also very sad. (Wish you were mine, Helios) (Wish you were mine, Helios) Nearly at my last breath now No more, no more Rolling up to a dead end, oh no This is it I’m falling to the end of my story now But will you decide to step in? I see your sunshine of gold and white pushing out the dark Fragrance of summer days drifting through my heart Hands made of light His frame made of fire sends out a spark Now, am I protected even though we’re worlds apart? Now I fall Was it worth it, baby? You’re the fire of my heart My eye in the storm You haven’t come rolling down in chariots I’m almost down and out for the count Wish my wings had been stronger Flew too close now they’re melted I’m falling Wish you were mine, Helios My father told me not to fly too close and, Wax burns my flesh as the water gets closer Boy, you don’t know what you do Your heat, oh, it burns But, darling, I got a close look at you I see your sunshine of gold and white pushing out the dark Fragrance of summer days drifting through my heart Hands made of light His frame of fire sends out a spark Now, am I protected even though we’re worlds apart? Now I fall Was it worth it, baby? You’re the fire of my heart The eye of my storm You haven’t come rolling in on chariots I’m almost down and out for the count Wish my wings had been stronger Flew too close now they’re melted I’m falling Wish you were mine, Helios I feel it, baby I feel fear coursing through my veins Still, like a sunflower, your light I’m craving Am I crazy? My love, an eternal flame Now I’ve gone and thrown my life away I see your sunshine of gold and white pushing out the dark Fragrance of summer days drifting through my heart Hands made of light His frame of fire sends out a spark Now I know I’m protected but, alas, it’s too late And I fell It was worth it, baby You’re still the fire of my heart My eye in the storm No, you didn’t come rolling in on chariots It’s alright that my wings were not strong Now they’ve melted like my heart I’ve fallen Dry your eyes, dear Helios You’ll always be mine, Helios
Yeah, probably not, still a cool song but yeah I think she wouldn't appreciate it but she would respect it and ask that the singer change it to her brother's name because she knows he'll like it better
Let me just write a quick scene about this girl I have a crush on :) I called you Artemis. To you, it was just a silly nickname, given by the biggest mythology geek you'd ever met. For me, it was more than that. It was symbolic, for the goddess everyone wanted, but could never have. Just as I could never have you. It's okay. I've come to terms with it. You are my Artemis. update: I found my Aphrodite, and I let my Artemis go update 2: Aphrodite left me, but I found Eros in myself :)
Lucky! There's a girl in my class called Athena, so jealous, but i mean our teacher keeps getting wrong and calling her Anthea or Andria and i keep thinking l, birch, do you need glass or some shot
I find it absolutely hilarious that this video that’s been up for less than two weeks has more views than the official video that’s been up for three years
Considering Artemis was a lesbian it's kinda funny a guy is singing this song but considering I'm a pan girl with a girlfriend I'm thinking I need to cover this song for my girlfriend 😂
@@cailinmccann5311 virgin meant something a bit different in ancient greece, and when you run around in the forest with a group of other girls and firmly are against men i mean... you can draw the conclusions. But i guess you're correct. To my knowledge there are no surviving legends about her having a female lover. (unlike apollo, who was very gay)
Haven't read Percy Jackson yet, i have the first book and i really want to but it was more mythology peaked my interest in Percy Jackson not the other way around
This is a powerful song i will admit and his talent his amazing but sometime i can barely understand what he's saying. Sounds like he has a speach problem. I know he doesn't........it's just odd.
