Best Café music ever written.! Tutti bravi, including camera, [sound tech] and lighting operators. Accolades to vocal acting of the singers and the flautist's aromatic delivery. Ovation to the clarity of cembalo counterpoint and spicy diction in "Mädchen die von harten Sinnen". Beautiful crisp string playing. Delightful ending. My all-time favorite version.
This version is truly excellent but I think the Koopman recording for TV (which is on youtube) just has a special place in my heart as I've been listening to it for so long! I think the soprano is also better in that version!

Es ist großartig, dass die Bachstiftung eine weitere weltliche Kantate hervorgebracht hat. Leider stimmt mit den SRT-Dateien etwas nicht. Lässt sich das noch anpassen? Das wäre nett.

The vocal and instrumental performances are superb, just as I have come to expect from Bachstiftung. I found Schlendrian's garb a little too casual, to the point of sloppiness. It's clear from the text that he is a conservative (My German dictionary translates "Schlendrian" as "casualness," but other sources have translated it "fuddy-duddy" or "stick-in-the mud") and prosperous person (able to buy whalebone skirts and gold and silver ribbons) and it seems that he would at least tuck in his shirt and button it properly, even if his daughter was driving him out of his mind.
Shocking how rich dads go downhill, isn't it? ;) (Speaking as the first of my dad's five daughters to drive him crazy) But the soprano is also barefoot which seems oddly casual too.
