So this confirms the late Ron Newt's story of 1 of his kids getting bit by Bubbles. He mentioned that Michael hit Bubble's with a lightning fast 4 hit combo after that. And Bubbles proceeded to get down on his knees in prayer mode. You can't make this sh!t up lol
J Valentine is very strategic about the things he says and the platforms he chooses to do interviews on. Intentional about not spreading himself too thin. Brilliant 🖤
It is sooo nice to see him in this light… seeing him shine in his own right… his humility is second to none… he is absolutely amazing… seeing him emerge in this new light is absolutely beautiful
J Valentine did an exceptional job on this interview. He brought humor, great storytelling, amazing experiences and thugness (lol). Truly enjoyed this.
It's been a pleasure to get to know who J.Valentine is through R&B money. The connection that him and TANK have is UNMATCHED. I love that they truly focus on the music on their podcast, and leave the drama behind. If the artist wants to volunteer information, they let them go, But they never ask about anything personal beyond the music. I really respect that!
"Some people are not fans." They are spect(h)ators. Thanks to Sway's Universe for having J Valentine on. J is truly a phenomenally skilled Artist/EXEC in so many areas.
@rnbmoneypodcast is important! Thanks J and Tank for bringing us what Soul Train was to some of us each every Saturday, morning in front of the television now on RU-vid!😎🍾👏🏽👊🏽💯
In rap, rapping is your talent. So you need to write your own lyrics. With r and b, singing is your talent. So it doesn't matter if you write your own lyrics. I wish I could do a interview and answer that question.
Man they have the best podcast out I’m not into r&b as much but I love hearing the stories! When you’re real it’ll always work in your favor god bless J valentine
He is telling the truth about Chris Brown. Chris did a song with my Family member Skylarr Platt last month. The city of Cincinnati gladly appreciates Chris Brown for the love.
That’s crazy. And slanderous. You can’t prove that man is gay. That’s just foul and I’m sure he nor Jaz McNew would appreciate the lies. Also he has kids who will one day see this. Why so much hate? Who hurt you?
True story. Years ago, some tigers were loose in Houston... and my uncle stole a tiger. It was the house I went to after walking home from Kindergarten. My dad left work, pulled up on me before I got there and I couldnt go there for a while. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Mr Newt sounds like my Uncle every time someone mentions him. RIP to my Uncle Johnnie and Mr. Ronnie Newt, Sr.
Every rapper ain't the same. And they gone maintain their success how they need to if they are really talented. I'm not saying his opinion is wrong about Hip Hop but it is just that. An opinion. Every rapper doesn't want to be the mainstream artist. They don't want all the fame and the glamour. That's not everybody goal. And like I said the artist that are here to make a change and make their money do just that and do it well so that they don't have to put out an album every year. They know how to keep their name relevant so that when they do drop ppl are going to be listening for them because they know what they are capable of.
Ive been wanting to hear J Valentines story from him for a while. He's said some things on the R&B Money podcast but not to this extent. I loved it! R&B MONEY!!!!!!!
I have to comment on J's opinion that certain "Kings of R&B" aside from Chris Brown don't "reach back" when they attain a certain status. It seems like he was alluding to Usher. Usher literally put Rico Love on. His first ever placement was on Confessions. He then became a prolific songwriter who wrote hits for everyone from Usher to Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Trey Songz etc. He also had him come out every night on The Truth Tour and gave him the spotlight to rap a verse on Throwback! Also, Usher mentors Eric Bellinger and Vedo, whom he met in 2012 and 2013 respectively. They've all worked together musically and both guys sang background on Usher's viral Tiny Desk performance and other festivals. If that isn't reaching back then idk what is. Hell, Usher had August Alsina as his opening act in 2014! JD and Bryan Michael Cox also talk about how he brings them along for every moment in his career. It seems like J (and Tank) probably wrote something for Usher in the past and were turned down, which is why almost every time Usher's name comes up on their podcast, they act weird about it.
I thought it was strange how Shannon Sharpe had Usher on his podcast before Tank and J. However they had his ex-wife Tameka on there. 🤨 Usher did bring Rico out on tour and I've seen Vedo perform with him a few times. Something's not being said but they are all very talented.
@@victoria8756 Exactly. You had Tameka on there BEFORE Usher. And don’t get me wrong Tameka is a brilliant stylist and did her thing in the 2000s but come on. Jay said the quiet part loud when Sway asked, “what about Usher?” and he said “I like Usher’s music”. That pretty much gave him away. I think Jay and Tank are doing great things with their podcast but I have peeped enough episodes to have noticed a pattern. Liking Chris Brown shouldn’t mean you gotta discredit Usher either lol.
@@cic8399 They couldn't discredit Usher if they wanted to. Most of their guests mention him and have success through him. You can't talk about R&B and not mention Usher. He is 30 years in, and at the top of his game right now. That man had simultaneous residencies on two continents. I never heard of anyone else doing that.
@@victoria8756 now it makes me wonder if Usher would ever come on their show. I’m not saying they’re always negative but I have seen little hints here and there. Like the time B. Cox obviously mentioned Usher as one of his favorite singers and said he has one of the most unique voices in the genre because you instantly know it’s him singing. Then J interjected and mentioned MJ and Prince. It was annoying because that was simply Bryan’s opinion and they don’t bat an eyelid when people compare Chris to other greats. Plus, Tank was just on Joe Budden’s podcast talking about how “CB is an evolution of Usher” blag blah.
@@cic8399 @cic8399 Yes! That was a little shady. They go extra hard promoting Chris and "giving him his flowers" as they say. That should be extended to all artist/guests whether they personally like them or not. I had hoped Usher would be on the show, considering the Superbowl and his upcoming tour but I don't see it happening either.
Good interview. Thank you Sway's Universe. Still laughing about the covd on the glass. Not insensitive. Just funny. 😂🤣😂🤣 That Filmore (with an r) story sounds like my non street self responding to a guy that told me and my college friend, 'I'm from PA shawty!' And I asked 'Pennsylvania?' And he responded 'Naw shawty, Prichard, AL...' 🤔
Okay J (his team), I’ve been asking for a harmony segment since y’all started. Sway just titled it. “Bust out in song”…new R&B$ segment. Under x second so u don’t get flagged. Ima keep asking bc it’s soooo good when it happens!
My homie used to live in Oakland. I visited 10 years ago. It's like a damn movie out there. I had a good time but you better know somebody out there before going. Oakland ain't no joke.
