A lot of people would get shy for saying they miss their friends. But as Nine said: they's been living together for a while, so it's normal to miss each other when they're alone. Imagine someone always being beside you, someone you can talk to, someone who can comfort you, a friend who'll listen to your stories. And suddenly he's gone and you're alone for a while. Of course you'd miss him. But talking about missing a friend is embarrassing for a lot of people. And Nine seems to have told Joong he was fine. So he basically got caught redhanded, talking about feelings he never shared with Joong.
It means He's definitely nervous. Any sort of neck rubbing, hair playing, face touching, or hand fidgeting is a sign of subconscious nervousness. He might be nervous because he likes you or he might be nervous because of the topic he is discussing.

It really depends on the language and how it's spoken, I guess. I have a Japanese friend and she gets all high pitched and cute when speaking Japanese and has this deep speaking voice when she speaks in English.
it's because you find words easier to pronunciate, i have a deep voice speaking in spanish, my voice in portuguese is softer, my english voice is a little bit higher and my korean voice is so high pitched lmao
