When you say that America seems darker there's actually some complete legitimacy to that. Because the UK is really far north, it catches the edge of the axis tilt and so when the north pole is day 24/7, the UK never goes into the darkest stage of night because it always catches a little bit of sun during the night. Whereas America, obviously doesn't
