I know it's been a little while since I've made a video, but I'm still here! In this one I review the Walmart-exclusive Jabba's Palace Adventure Set from Hasbro.
Those 2 figures are reissued from around 2010. It would've been great if Hasbro included a newer figure to go with the playset, like Bib Fortuna or another character we never have seen in figure format before.
The one I'd want to see on a vintage card more than any is Amanaman. They've always been my favourite figure. And if they would actually sculpt a brand new, more accurate looking one (with more articulation), that'd be a dream.
personally i instantly jumped on this set when i first heard about it, i SUPER wanted the playset. could NOT care less about the two figures i do not need, would much rather had ten of fifteen dollars knocked off the price and keep the figures i probably already have. actually i think Ree Yees is one of the few vintage figures i still use in my display because i still dont think they have topped the old sculpt. same with Jabba himself.

Great review of a nifty piece! Thank you! Man, Wal-Mart exclusive distribution is appalling, and has been that way since at least the Rebo Band 2-Packs from the late 1990s. Not to mention, some of the images of shipments I've seen from their online customers look like the products were packed by the gorilla who used to tear apart luggage in those ads from the '70s and '80s. I recently went to our nearest Wal-Mart, and they had two of the Skiff Guard Landos, which both looked like they'd been sat on.
I actually saw this set a couple of years ago around 2019 and thought "well it doesn't have jabba nor yak face, so I don't want it". Little did I know that this was a scalped set and I would have grown an appreciation for ree yees. Oh well
This seems to be a trend lately with the store exclusives. The Target Gamorrean Guards were hard to find, Retro collection is scarce, and now the Jabba playset. I have a good friend who is a manager at a local Walmart and she couldn't even get them. It's kind of taking the fun out of collecting when things are impossible to get without shelling out two to three times what it's worth. I do think this is a nice set, and I hope to get one if they are restocked at some point. On a related note, have you purchased or plan on purchasing any of the Disney Galaxy's Edge Jabba themed items?
I haven’t heard of anyone finding them in stores yet so I feel like there must be another wave coming. I did get the plush Jabba from Galaxy’s Edge - check out my site or instagram for that. I would also like to get one of those Salacious Crumb puppets that site on your shoulder and the Jabba fresco from the sail barge, but they are expensive and hard to get without going to the park

This sets cool, irecall how impossible they were to get but last summer I snagged one set of walls (only) for $20 & another one for $35 with an 83’ jabba, 83’ nikto w/ gun, Oola from potf, Han with block & 2 crumbs . Then I got reeyees from this set for $10. What an awesome set though. Reeyees is a repack, his first vc one was really pink. & the original Kenner had a different weapon (gold futuristic rifle).happy hunting fans
Dude kid you not I just bought this from my local Walmart for $13.00, the last one on the shelf. They also had the Skiff for $9.00 which I may grab but they had 3 of the left. I typically collect 6" now, but get the odd 3.75" figure here and there (like the Mandalorian, and any R2 and 3PO of course).I actually got this hoping to use it with my Black Series Jabba which I just got last week from eBay and am loving! Didn't have any accessories tho so am happy to report this looks pretty darn good with Jabba sitting in it. I plan to make a throne like yiour other video, and hoping to find 6" scale Hookah Pipe, Bowl etc at some point or a good 3D printed replica. This set standing around the back and sides of the throne will look awesome methinks! As for the point of moving it up and down, surely its to recreate the scene where Leia Boushh lowers it and it clangs so loud making everyone cringe that the entire palace of baddies will wake up and catch them? LOL, and you just showed as clip of that scene so I should have kept watching first, lol. Anyway great review like all your Jabba vids, ho ho ho ho!
For my area, this and the skiff is brand new. Considering I found them both Thursday, I guess they were released (put out for the first time at a Walmart here) on Force Friday. Too bad we didn't get those fancy end tables with the set. I could've done without the Ree-Yees and Han reissues. Just gave us the magnetic Carbonite block Han (and the decor pieces) at a lower cost.
Mighty jabba's collection, could you do a video showcasing all of jabba's guards on the sail barge? I think it would be cool to see how you would display them.
This year has kinda been “the year of the jabba”. They put out the barge and now we’ve gotten this, the skiff, and the skiff guard three pack, so I’d imagine they intend for you to use the Jabba from the barge, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same figure as the one from the 3.75 black series set.
Great video. I was hoping you'd pull out all the relevant figures and stage them. I understand though, you sound very busy, which is a good thing I'm sure. Thanks for taking time to think of us and to make this video for our enjoyment.
These things are in every Walmart in the Charlotte NC area. Every time I go searching for things, they are always there. Not sure about the price, but if you live around here they are no trouble to get. I see 4 or 5 in every store. Just FYI.
They have the taun taun and jerba heads on the 1999 jabba’s palace diorama. Also people that never got the chance to get these, hasbro will make more until the toy’s interest goes down.
Damn hearing the struggle to get this sucks to hear. I hate having to pay for more than MSRP on something that should be readily available to get and which sadly is now. I hate seeing scalpers pull that shit of buying multiples of something just to turn a massive profit. Love the channel and just discovered you recently in my search of making a 1/12th scale Jabbas palace for my Black Series figures. 😳 Good god! This video came out in June, and this set was out for a little minute already. Yeah, it's just funny with mentioning how this is totally brand new to my area. I never thought I'd get it or the new skiff, cause I certainly wasn't paying more than retail.
If only Hasbro did a Movie accurate Jabba's Throne Room that was sold in monthly subscriptions.That you can slowly build together, it would make much more sence
I was sooo lucky getting mine, I pre ordered it but then didn't have the cash, luckily my fav online retainler Star Action figs held it for me for almost a month and I just got it. And by the way they are NOT making anymore of these.
I bought two of these last week from my local Wal-mart. I went to open one of them and to my surprise there were no action figures inside. So I quickly checked the other one and found the two figures were included. I will be returning the "defective" box back to the store and getting a refund. The point of this post is just be careful when you buy stuff from retail for your collections. Inspect the merchandise for damage or signs of tampering, with the figure-less box someone cut the tape at the end to get the figures out then most likely returned the item back to the store with no one the wiser. The people at the stores don't make that much and couldn't care less if your item is defective or missing parts like mine was. I'm expecting they will most likely put it back on the shelf, but I want what I payed for!
I’ve also found things where the toy has been swapped out with a similar, but older and much less desirable toy. Always seems to happen at Walmart, since I guess they aren’t very strict about returns
I wish the jabbas palace vintage collection sets could be like the Harry Potter hogwarts LEGO sets which combine to make a figure scale hogwarts so they could sell many of the jabbas palace sections and then you can connect them together and they may be able to sell all of the sections in a bundle
Walmart fulfillment is horrible. I pre-ordered a bunch of stuff, then release came, went, a month later they sent me a notification that they could not fill order and cancelled the pre-order.
Ever thought about going over Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Imperial Assault? Jabba's Realm expansion Pack or Jabba the Hutt Villain pack in particular?
@@MightyJabbasCollection You have the core set, which contains the rules? Basically there's two ways to play: there's Campaigns, which is kind of like a roleplaying game where each Rebel player plays a hero and one Imperial Player controls the story and the villains; then you have the Skirmish games where you set up a skirmish map and each player assembles a team of either heroes or villains. Also I like the idea of painting the miniatures and displaying them in a diorama
I do have the core rules as well as the Jabba stuff but haven’t really bothered to try and learn them if I’m honest. I do like the miniatures so I suppose just looking at those separately from the rules is a possibility
@@MightyJabbasCollection That's all I wanted to know. If you feel like making Jabba and the rancor look cooler, I would recommend checking out Sorastro's Painting.
The best one would be the one that came with the Rancor Pit set from Toys R Us (which is essentially the same one that came with the big sail barge vehicle). But they are both expensive and relatively hard to find, so the next best would probably be the Ultra Jabba. The Walmart-exclusive vintage collection Jabba is also nice, but has a tendency to get weirdly oily due to the materials they used on his lower body.
@@MightyJabbasCollection that's for he response. i already had a handful of his denizens so i figured i would get the big man him self. My brothers have the vintage one laying somewhere in storage at my house. he will serve as a worthy place holder until then, your video have been really helpful in building that display.
I have to assume there's a reason that we didn't see the tauntaun head in detail. Because it wasn't supposed to be a tauntaun head, but they had it sitting around and needed something. What would Jabba want with a Tauntaun head. I always assumed they were native to Hoth.
i do find it weird sort of, as far as we know they are native to some really remote not overly well known and uninhabited planet so it doesnt really make sense Jabba would have them. he would have trophies of some batter known and more intimidating beasts. but i am now fine with them because the cool changes i thought Lucas could do with the special additions he instead made a bunch of changes i cannot stand. the Sy Snootles band scene was one of my absolute favorite scenes in the whole trilogy as a kid, i thought it was so weird and alien and cool. cannot stand the new big over the top pop band scene he added. in the end i sort of feel like a lot of the reason Star Wars was cool was an accident because George didnt have the budget or technology to do some of the stuff he wanted. my other favorite scene in the whole thing is the introduction to the Cantina and the Alien that most caught mt attention in that scene was Lak Sivrak, whom he completely removed and replaced with a boring little weird looking alien.
I wanted the palace pieces...but I fear it’s not to scale with my 1983 Kenner Jabba and throne or older Han in carbonite....Old Kenner stuff is larger, yes?

Thanks, I'm still alive. I'm just really busy with work and finding it really hard to find the time and energy to make videos. I do still update the website and publish to Instagram occasionally so those are options if you need a Jabba fix in the meantime. :D

With you asking if these figures are re-releases, that really shocked me. Not meaning this in a rude way, but I really thought you knew of/owned everything Jabba related.
Well the thing is, I'm not as action figure focused as some collectors are, so I might not recognize if something is a slightly retooled version of something that's already been released. Unless it's Jabba himself, that is.
Update: our walmart shelves have about 9 of these marked down to $25..also there new kid friendly line of figures that just came out...that noone is buying there marked down to $4 ..and there still not selling...
If people would stop buying these things from second hand locations, it may send Hasbro a message. Until then people who don’t want to spend stupid amount of money on something this simple will never get it
