Hi, I just got my first tree, and I am going to plant it. I came to your channel to review what kind of soil to plant it in. I am going to keep it in a pot. On a side note, I have not tasted this fruit yet. I have to say that as a native miami person, my favorite fruit remains the mango, and i love muscadine grapes, I think they do grow in homestead, (not sure) I am also crazy about florida avocados (sp). After seeing flying fox fruits grafting videos, I need to search around for my favorite avocados. Thank you for all of the good stuff that you do.

It’s totally worth the wait! Get a red, they can fruit in 5-6yrs. I have mature reds ready to fruit for $150.

 @Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsTV Hey there. Stopped by for a few plants last Saturday. Great plants and thank you! Caterina talked me into getting a Jaboticaba next. Which one do you recommend? Any flavor differences? I see you have a decent size red one for sale right now. Thank you!

Awesome man! Thanks for the support. I’d definitely go with the red variety for flower and not having to wait 10 years.

Do they have a tap root or do they spread was thinking of planting mine next to a concrete porch but don’t know if it’s gonna compromise the foundation I to am in zone 9 central Texas my tree is very smalllooks like it’s a sabra as you informed small leave it looks like a bonsai I will leave in pot until it gets bigger
@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL
@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL Год назад
It should be okay, but if it gets too large you might want to consider planting farther from foundation, but that will take many years

I was wondering for a sabra that’s 4yrs old when would it fruit? Also should I transplant it as soon as I get it? I’m still debating on getting that or a 15 gallon but don’t know the variety

I have a jaboticaba as well. I was just wondering if you know why the tips of the leaves are turning brown, almost black. (on some, but not all leaves).

They can be very common with Jabo’s. Just keep the moisture up and make sure the soil isn’t too broken down if in a pot. They don’t really like worms.
