I really like the Jaboticaba, In Brazil they even make wine from the fruit. interesting thing about the tree, it will flower, and produce fruit all within a month. they may do this more than once a year, but generally they come and go in a flash.
The first time I went, I thought that you were allowed to take stuff home so I brought a huge bag in and filled it up. When I left the lady at the front door took it away :(.
Great stuff! These were so strange, that 20 years later, I was not sure if it was some sort of fever dream, or if I actually had these when I visited Brazil. Glad it was not a dream. But they are completely different to what you'd expect... fruit on the bark?! XD
Jaboticaba is my favorite fruit of all. My aunt used to have two trees of it here in the countryside of São Paulo, and they would give so much fruit we weren't able to eat it all
I have a Jaboticaba tree in my backyard. It's about 8-10 years old and has never flowered/fruited for me. But I do like the taste of them, when I have eaten them. Never tried eating the skin of one before though. May have to give it a try next time I get some.
Best Racing Tips Win At The Dragstrip google search "how to prune jaboticaba" and you''ll see my video on the subject. Properly pruning (and irrigating) can help stubborn trees to produce fruits.
Great episode Jared ! So, I strongly recommend yoy to visit Brazil. You will find there a new universe of tropicals never reviewed by the master tasting guy ( you ) . Even, in dollars the trip is now cheaper than last years. Thanks ! ! I hope you can !
Found this channel on Friday, it's Sunday today....I'm absolutely obsessed, I love it!! I'm actually shocked that you don't have more views. Very interesting and informative. It's refreshing to see and enjoy videos without all of the cursing, hate and craziness. For that, I thank you. Keep up the good work!
I also tasted a sunza at the fruit and spice park. It was fiberous, no smell to it. Since I used a knife to cut a piece, when I ate it the fibers somewhat melted in my mouth. It had a sweet potato/pumpkin taste with a slight anise flavor.
the san sapote wasnt ready but when its ready its like very ripe melon still has the fibers n the other one was also not ripe when its ripe its really sweat
I would be interested to see a video about all the times you've gotten parasites from fruit or soil and where you were when it happened. And how you knew something was wrong. Thanks for another great review :)
I don't think you can get parasites from plants, you get them from animal products, unless a dog pooped on the fruit, I think you're safe, lol. Nice video, what a cool park there in Miami!
When I went to the park it was absolutely amazing, but I tried a yellow persimmon relative and it was so painfully bitter that I had to spit it out. Kinda feel bad about that all things considered but it was awful.
It's not really tropical, but a SUBtropical tree, which means, it grows best in the warm temperate climate zone. It's native of the Brazilian highlands, so this tree doesn't like much heat. I think the climate of the Cordillera Central in Luzon, Philippines would be perfect to grow jabuticaba.
petit sachet a diluer dans un litre d'eau...j'en ai rapporter du brésil j'y reviens je suis d'ailleurs occuper à en boire.......s’achète au Bompreco ???
Interesting video, I wish to taste them all someday. My only critic is the video shakes too much, makes me want to throw up...maybe I am too sensitive. But I mean this as a healthy construction. Thank you for the review/information. 😊
I have under different names I reviewed the yellow sapote here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wuwtUFBOA-Y.html Long mut: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-19AAFqndEgI.html
It's great u make a video of exotic fruits that nobody has ever seen. But when u compare one exotic fruit taste that nobody has ever seen to another different exotic fruit that nobody has ever seen, then .....
This comment of mine is negative but I mean it constructively. Your exploration of previously unheard of fruits is very informative. However, your facial expression seems to be out of sync with your descriptions. Your face seem to be only appropriate with tart and astringent fruits. It would be truly satisfying if you can loose the pained expression and match an open relaxed expression when describing sweet and delicious fruits.
Marcus Apicius Yeah, it is weird...he cringes alot, I don't have high hopes at all, but then he said it tasted good. The opposite happens when I watch Korean food channel. They eat very expressively and make sounds like "oooh, aaah, nom nom nom" alot. I'm drooling and my stomach growls. But when I got a change to ate them, it's not that delicious at all. 😅😝😂
I disagree with you, why does his facial expression have to be "WOW" or "DELICIOUS" sort of things? This is his emotions and expression naturally. In fact, it is better that he doesn't make over-exaggerating facial expression. He won't sugarcoat or make fake expressions just to show us his feelings about the fruit. Jared show us his real, true and first feelings about the fruit instead of overemphasize those fruits.
@@LadyVoldemort No lady, he isn't cringe. What do you expect from a fruit reviewing channel? This is not a food tasting ASMR channel. Why are you putting the standards for ASMR channels onto his unique video ideas? It has different criteria for different contents. This is a review, REVIEW.
