Man they really did a huge upgrade on the 55. The numbers are confusing because people will think the 65 is the newer upgrade. lol

Awesome demo of the 55 and more specific the single ear one. I'm someone with SSD (Single Sided Deafness and seeing this one with noise canceling but also left or right ear useable is great to see. The specs do not always show that. Thx.

The 55 has a magnificent noice cancelling mic. But in a quiet room the 65 mic sounds much more natural IMO.

Thanks for the review. Unfortunately, this evolve2 55 still on backorder. I have evolve 75 stereo and need mono version for driving. End up buying evolve2 65 mono yesterday.

Fantastic review and comparison! Incredibly valuable! Just a quick question regarding the USB dongle, whether it's Type A or C. Is it easily/affordably replaceable in the event of misplacement?

You can choose either option usb a dongle or usb c depending upon your computer. Replacement dongle costs somewhere around 100

The Jabra Evolve2 65 does not work, stick with the 55: This product seems really good on the surface. Folds up and is very portable, great for hybrid workers. Great mic quality as exemplified by the RU-vid reviews. Has Active Noise Cancellation. The issue I had was people often complained they could not hear me. This would happen several times per day and would come about randomly during calls, mid-conversation. I thought maybe it was my headset which was faulty so I returned it and got another pair of the exact same headset. Surely that would fix the issue? Nope, exact same issue. I’ve read countless reports about similar issues with the Evolve2 Flex 75 which has a similar mic which tucks away for a discreet look. Seems like the issues have persisted. There were no firmware updates available to me through the Jabra software which could have potentially resolved the issue and also I tried changing the wireless range on the receiver which by shortening the range, it’s meant to provide a more stable connection to the headset. This also didn’t work. I returned it and instead got the new Jabra Evolve2 55 which has similar features but isn’t quite as portable. I’ve had no issues with the 55 model thus far.

yeah, very noticeable difference in this test. only the 55 has the speech detection feature, muting when there is no speech.

Great review ... regarding the Evolve2 55 Mono version does the 'lift to mute function' work if microphone worn on the left ear please ? And does the desk stand have USB-C in and out please ?

Yes, it works either way and desk stand is USB-C (charge stand) to USB-A to computer.

Are these just plug&play or need some software installed to work as expected? On corporate computers there is usually no possibility to install personal software, so it would be nice to have that information in the video :)

The headset is plug and play and the software is optional so it’s not needed for the headset to work.

Other customers tell us it works fine on a work laptop with the USB Dongle. It's similar to plugging in a mouse.

Unfortunately it's more expensive then the 65, even the 55 mono is more expensive then the 65 stereo version... Hopefully that'll change soon

Everyones different but it's safe to say for most this headset will be plenty comfortable for many hours of use at a time.

Does anyone know if an iPhone gets dropped from Bluetooth when in the middle of a call? Thought it my old phone…still happens with iPhone 14 Pro Max. Tried 3 different Poly headset with the same behavior. Can be a few minutes to 10 minutes or even 20 and the headset disconnects. Happened today during an interview. Do NOT want to buy another headset and have the same issue.

We haven't heard of this issue so it sounds out of the ordinary. If you tried 3 different Poly headsets with the same result, something seems off that may be phone related.

@@mchacon01 if we’re talking about the evolve2 55 flex vs the evolve2 65 flex, the 55 will be less. If comparing against the Evolve2 65 (non flex) then yes this sounds right as the 55 is a newer model.
