ASISI SUHARIYANTO'S NOTES
JABUNG TEMPLE is located on the north coast of Java, only a few meters from the coastline. Not surprisingly, the temperature around this temple is quite hot because it is in the lowlands. This temple was built during the Majapahit era, but what is surprising is its shape. Unlike other Majapahit temples, this temple has a cylindrical body.
Various interpretations have been made regarding this form, but the strongest opinion is that this temple has Buddhist nuances. This is in line with the reporting of the Negarakertagama Book. However, this video dissects the possibility that the influence of tantra and Hinduism contributed to the birth of the unusual shape on the body of the temple.
It turns out that there are many unique facts about Indonesian history that deserve our attention, of course, from a new perspective. For example, about Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms in Indonesia, Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms in the archipelago, ancient Javanese philosophy, ancient Javanese philosophy, even Javanese habits in ancient Javanese culture, both in the form of writing and temples.
