Spot-on Winston. Just because I have Maori ancestry (as I do) doesn't mean that I want to be continuously defined by it for the puposes of achieving political power and financial gain for a small cohort of unelected "Maori elite" appointed by Government - i.e. the insidious "co-governance" model.

In another 100 years the Maori race will l have virtually disappeared due to intermarriage. People cannot go on calling themselves Maori when they only have a few Maori genes in their DNA.NZ is a multi-cultural country and everyone should just consider themselves Kiwis irrespective of their racial heritage. While your point about biracial marriage will dilute Maori blood is true, one thing that won't die is our culture. If our culture offends you, just remember Pākeha culture offends us too. We don't like how white yous can be and how white some of your songs and chants are. Alot of us think it's cringe, just as you think haka is overdone. But we coexist because our European ancestors migrated here. We've no choice but to accept our differences because one thing we have in common is European blood.

With a FPTP win they have enacted all sorts of unpopular legislation on the masses with little support. This is the worst type of government. And will be there downfall. Quite disgraceful behaviour. In Australia many Aboriginal people are still full blood Aboriginal. The last full blood Maori died back in the early 1960s - it was big news at the time, all over the news papers. While Winston is correct, he is totally a political animal, and people so easily forget that Winston gave NZ Ardern to begin with. He betrayed his conservative voter base when he went with Labour in 2017, giving a died-in-the-wool socialist total control of NZ, all for a Deputy PM-ship it seems. NZ First doesn't want to hear this, but many - dare I say most - of your voters/supporters felt betrayed when NZ First went with Labour in 2017.

It's not just a matter of one person, it's the whole idea of the Labour Party. They prefer to be Radical rather than pragmatic. They like to talk about high profile, but practical things alway doing badly. They may be kindly persons, but they always make the country mess. They want to help the poor, but after a few years, the poor living standard has fallen. They Show loving kindness to teenagers but they make the crime rate of the country increase greatly. What we need is a pragmatic leader, not an ideologue.

I know little about Winston Peters but his appearance in an interview with Jones is no recommendation! Jones has been caught out in so many 'mis-speaks' or lies as we might think of them, but still he has no shame! Surely this does nothing good for Peter's credibility!

"Cogovernance" or even an extremely fractured number of political parties is a divide and conquer strategy. Just look at Italy as an example, every government is a failed multi-party coalition and Berlusconi used this system to own the media, become extremely wealthy and become Prime Minister. The opposition could never get the numbers to to oppose him and his supporters either in politics or in business.

I am an Aussie. I have Kiwi's Maori in me on my mums side . U wouldn't see it in me . In my brother & sister &:some of my cousins. In my uncles . My grandmother was probably 70% Maori. She married a Maori on her 2nd marriage. Only met him once. Lovely chap .
