The funny thing about that is. Strangers of paradise is an Isekai and hes lost all his memories so he very well couldve as we know nothing of his prior life only that he was choosen to be sent on a mission
It's indeed ironic how the reception of Jack and the game in general have changed since its initial release. While still flawed in some aspects, it has turned into something akin to a modern cult classic (and Jack certainly is top meme material).
I have been thinking about it too. the thought of playing the eventually antagonist of a FF story is awesome! they should do more FF games like this. be neat to see their back stories. FF7 , even though it's been done into the dirt would be neat. FF4, 6, even 10. Jecht would be an awesome 2nd story.
@TMVGemini24 (Pee) Definitely got the vibe that, if SoP2 was made, it'd follow the Emperor as he tries to build back his power. Although hopefully if this becomes a long-running series we end up jumping around a bit, since Cloud of Darkness, Golbez and Exdeath aren't quite as interesting as the villains that come after them. But then again, neither was Garland and they made him into an amazing protagonist, so who knows?
@metalsign7015 if you were spoiled you didnt pay attention to the trailors or dev talks lol... its no secret the main dude you play is Garland the antagonist of FF 1...
@@MaisieSqueak "impatient gamer". Some people just don't like when devs try to artificially make games longer by adding completely useless for the plot dialogs and monologs.
This alone sells me on this game. Watching a hammy villain get put in his place with a simple, crude rebuttal. Same energy as watching Dante shit talk everyone in DMC 4.
I'd actually rank him pretty low among the available villains as far as "ripped from NT" goes. Just imagine Kefka, Sephiroth, Kuja, Zenos, or Ardyn. Hell, Ardyn should've been picked just because his design wouldn't look completely out of place.
@@vadandrumist1670 Ardyn is more likely to team up with Jack rather than fight him. These two characters have basically the exact same arc of being turned into essentially slaves to a higher power against their will and turning to darkness to break free from that fate.
@@LittleAl016 I mean, technically yes, but that means you have to be willing to play Omnia. I was more thinking along the lines of the psp Dissidias since those have by far the best banter.
Emperor: You shall rue the day you dared defy Emperor Mateus Palamecia! Jack Garland: Even your name makes it obvious you'll be spouting more B.S. than any of the foes we've encountered.
Ok how the fuck did they bring back the original voice actor for this character who has a minuscule small part in a DLC for a game most people didn’t play, but they can’t fucking bring back all the voice actors for the new Final Fantasy7 game especially Zack’s voice actor fucking square Enix
So he's just doing what Kefka did in FF6 to the main characters when they were spouting about the power of friendship. "You all sound like pages out of a self-help book!"
Now I have a burning desire to see Kefka show up in any anime that falls back on that insufferable trope... ( _Which, regrettably, would probably comprise about 90% of all anime EVER..!_ )
At least he kinda let the villain monologue for a bit, unlike the other times where he just straight up interrupted the others by trying to punch them.
We can now safely add Clive from FF16 aswell, he is slightly more sane as Jack, but still carries on the spirit of "Im really done with your bullshit.", especially when he has to deal with Hugo.
I understand long conversations with friends, so long as we give each other a chance to ask questions or something. But long monologues from egotistic villains, just grab a gun and then blam. The End.
I remember last time I played FF8. On the last battle I remember setting the Attack command on Zell the moment Ultimecia started her monologue and changed into her final form. The moment she stopped talking, Zell immediately punched her in the face. It was hilarious! Maybe the second best way to respondo to a monologue, lol.
...you have unironically figured out the issue I have with all final fantasy dialogue. Even when it's written well, it still felt slow and clunky. Because it's literally half the speed it should be.
Him and Kaine would be such a legenday duo😂 I don't know too much about Zero since I haven't played Drakengard 3, but I'm sure your right about her too😅
Jack would fit really really well in the Nierverse. He'd see Adam being born and be like: "Hey, I think you got the wrong place, the brothel's two miles south." Adam and Eve would probably barrage the guy with moral quandaries, about humanity's complexity and the nature of free will, and Jack would just say: "I came all this way to fight, not so you pansies could kiss my ass So just shut up and get ready!" Zero might remind Jack of Sarah since they look similar, but as soon as she runs her mouth Jack would be in for a treat. They might even get along because they have the same passion for battle and profanities.
It’s nice that in Opera Omnia, both Garlands interact and the og Garland tries to help Jack find what he is looking for. You’d think they’d be at each others throats with a thirst for combat and chaos. I bet og Garland was thinking, “wow, this is what I was like back then?”
Jack has grown a bit more understanding and patient, and he now wants to listen to just a litle bullshit in order to tell his enemies exactly why it's bullshit😂
His entire character development throughout the game has made him a collected shit-talking cutscene skipper instead of an enraged shit-talking cutscene skipper. It makes me happy to see Jack growing as a person!
Like the final episode of Beast Wars. Megatron: "Oh, well, come on, then. Let's have it. The usual 'destiny' and 'honor' speech." Optimus: ".....Speech THIS." **Punches Megatron in the face**
@@TheDragonsPit Lol. I would personally want him to be an antihero that fights light and dark in order to face a "greater threat" (Chaos) then when he learns that he was Chaos the whole time he succoms to darkness but maybe Riku pulls him out of it.
Not at all, he would absolutely hate him in fact. Jack has no time for any of Dante's clowning. If there's an action game protagonist he would get along with it would actually be Ryu Hayabusa since they are both the serious, get to the point, goal driven kind of people.
Garland would win easy. He's not even the actual antagonist in his own game. It'd be fairer to pit Garland up against Zemus, and regardless of who wins there, it'd be a fast fight.
Might help that this is a Team Ninja game, and they basically just do their own thing😂 I don’t think a single studio makes any games that play like their games
@@chomskyhonk2366 I mean, no Bloodborne is fucking amazing. Too bad that it is kind if the only thing I can think of as an exclusive that is actually good on Sony.
Jack's like, "No no no, you have to say something stupid and really memorable to establish yourself in history. Something like, 'I'll make you all fall down!'"
If I had a nickle for every time a blonde named Jack with that hair cut was based as hell, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it's happened twice.
Damn Matt, looks like you shouldn't have fought the God of *Chaos* in his *Chaos* Realm while he was with his *Chaos* friends. Now, look at ya, nerfed back to level 12 and chucked right into the end-game hero raid team. But I really do adore how in character Mateus sabotages himself, the man is just too prideful of himself.
@@mackybell14 Yeah sadly even with balls big enough to go and usurp the throne of god and the demon king he still can't help but stub his toe on the first stone he sees.
Out of all ff chara, I could honestly found Jack as relatable and based, like... Any other ff chara would sometimes listen to monoluge and after that spout like "I will stop you" or "yo will never succeed" jack just goes "I knew you'd spout bullshit, since you dressed like one"
