/ jesus_villarreal75 Frances McDormand presenting Jack Nicholson the Oscar® for Best Actor for his performance in "As Good as it Gets" at the 70th Academy Awards® in 1998. Tough contest that year...
I laughed so hard when I saw the other “Oscar nominees” along with Jack Nicholson. The video creator did a great job with this clip. For a split second there, I thought maybe Tim Allen really did get nominated for his role in Jungle 2 Jungle and I was just living under a rock that year. Just as quickly as that thought came into my head, I dismissed it because I can’t see any way that Tim Allen would get an Oscar nomination on his own, let alone for a movie like Jungle 2 Jungle. Then as soon as I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze… my thoughts were confirmed. Great clip. 👍
These aren't the actual nominees (other than Jack), by the way. In reality he went up against Matt Damon, in Good Will Hunting, amongst other prolific actors
why are you writing this? no one is interested in your opinion. Amazing how people who have so incredibly little to do, that they have to write totally uninteresting posts on the internet
My dad and I both love quoting Jack Nicholson's line about "good times, noodle salad", though dad admits I do a much better impression of Jack than he does, he said that one time when we, my mom, and his barber were eating dinner and I bragged I could do a better impression of Jack than anyone else in the room.
one of my favourites..i loved the way he acted and how he looked after her son how she came to his place wondering how to repay him the compliment he gave her..one of my favourite movies n his dialogue was perfect
It's not my number one favorite, but it is one of my all-time favorites. In the interest of Jack Nicholson films I'd say it's in the top three along with "A Few Good Men" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".
The real nominees that year: Jack Nicholson - As Good as It Gets as Melvin Udall Matt Damon - Good Will Hunting as Will Hunting Robert Duvall - The Apostle as Euliss "Sonny" Dewey, a.k.a. "The Apostle E.F." Peter Fonda - Ulee's Gold as Ulysses "Ulee" Jackson Dustin Hoffman - Wag the Dog as Stanley Motss Robin Williams won his Oscar that year. Jack and Robin met backstage. Robin ofcourse being very happy that he won. Jack Nicholson said:" You know Robbo... Now i have one for every decade". Robin Williams internal monologue: " You son of a b....".... 🤣
I've seen 4 of those 5 films, except for Fonda in Ulee's Gold. Hoffman was good in Wag the Dog, but up for lead actor? It was a supporting role. Leo should have at least a nomination in that spot for Titanic. He was the lead from beginning to end with a very charismatic performance. Definitely some politicking going on this year.
Men of his age, they don't give credit to women. Hunt was stupendous and a perfect foil for him. He has always shone because of the women around him. Yes, Jack, it's true. I hope you can stand the truth.👵🕯️❤️
@@catherinerodriguez4598 where was the woman making him shine in Batman? lol what are you smoking? Jack is just a good actor. Put down the Karen hat for 6 seconds.
That was not the competition. This guy Jesus hacked the video and made it up. Watch the video he Jack names all the guys he was up against. Peter Fonda, Robert Duvall, Dustin Hoffman, and Matt Damon. It was a tight race but Jack is the best so he got it.
@@luz7975 So many great lines... my fav is where a fan asks him how he writes such vivid women characters, and he says something like, "Well, first I think of a man, and then I take away all reason and accountability!"
@@happybirthday146 Apparently when my brothers were little my dad took them to see "Little Miss Sunshine", which he evidently didn't remember all that well. I never saw that movie but I doubt that it's as good as "As Good As It Gets", and I loved Greg Kinnear in the latter.
How can he ignore Helen Hunt? This movie was hit because of her fabulous acting. I also admire justice done by Greg Kinnear and Cuba Gooding Jr. It was perfect.
Guys... I think he means ignoring her at 2:14 when he stands up and blows her off. Even while they were sitting next to each other and she was roaring with cheer at him 😂
@@martinslvsten428 I know. It's like nobody bloody listens anymore!! Fu8k me!! What has happened to peoples' ability to focus. That has 20 upvotes so far. 20 people who just don't listen.
The other nominees are a joke from the video maker. The real nominees that year were: Jack Nicholson - As Good as It Gets as Melvin Udall Matt Damon - Good Will Hunting as Will Hunting Robert Duvall - The Apostle as Euliss "Sonny" Dewey, a.k.a. "The Apostle E.F." Peter Fonda - Ulee's Gold as Ulysses "Ulee" Jackson Dustin Hoffman - Wag the Dog as Stanley Motss
People, let's be honest... Jack is the GOAT !!!!!!!!!! He really is the best of all time! It makes me sick that Jack is old now and that I won't see him in a new movie anymore. Life is unfair!!!
My favorite currently living actor. Oh, and to make a corny reference to this movie, what makes his retirement so difficult is not that we're having it bad but that we're that pissed that we used to have it good.
That final scene in the film, particularly the moment where Jack kisses Helen and says "i KNOW i can do better than that" before kissing Helen again never fails to bring a tear of joy to my eye.
@@ppuh6tfrz646there is a jew at my table, Carol the waitres - Simon the fag, i think of a man n i take awsome reason n accountibility…there are alot of lines
I love that walk off the stage with Frances McDormand. She's telling Jack he's all that and a box of Cracker Jacks. She adores him, as she should. He receives it well.....
@@awesomeboston5217 no that was Helen Hunt....she was sitting right next to him. For a split second when Jack stood up it looked like he was going to go hug Helen, then he didn't....Helen even looked like she thought he was going to hug her cuz she moved forward in her seat. Yikes!! It was awkward.
I must admit Jon Voigt was awesome but there is no way on earth you could deny Jack this award. Besides the Joker in 1989 batman and 1992 A Few Good Men this was the best performance of his life.
...in a realm of his own, in a class not yet determined - he had star performances boosting him in this one to the extreme. Great stuff. An extreme joie...
Probably along the lines of something like this: Fran: That was great Jack! I would love a chance to dance at the after party tonight. Jack: You used the wrong verb.
He said, "I wonder if some RU-vid douchebag named Jesus Villarreal will post a doctored video that belittles one the happiest achievements of my career."
It is not only the worst list of best actor nominees I've ever seen, that has to be the dopest split screen assemblage of finalists in the history of the awards. If of course it was real, lol. With the borderline surrealism of how hard Helen Hunt gets dissed, followed by Jack's happy dancing, the fake nominees almost don't seem that out of place.
Honestly, I was wondering the same thing how on earth was Arnold Schwarzenegger on an Academy award winning list? Obviously, Jack Nicholson would have won 😂
Good editing hahaha The other nominess were 1.Matt damon-- Goodwill hunting. 2.Robert duvall--The Apostle 3.Peter Fonde-- Ulles Gold 4.Dustin Hoffman--- Wag the dog
Oh Jack, you are the best actor ever!!!!! 😁😁😁😁... Alway's a true treasure!!!!!! You are hilarious in this movie, you have such a talent, you are one of the best one's left!!!!!! Love you, Jack!!! 🥀🥀🥀🥀.. 2022...
Other nominees - Matt Damon - Good Will Hunting as Will Hunting Robert Duvall - The Apostle as Euliss "Sonny" Dewey, a.k.a. "The Apostle E.F." Peter Fonda - Ulee's Gold as Ulysses "Ulee" Jackson Dustin Hoffman - Wag the Dog as Stanley Motss
Jack was at a party one night, and a very attractive woman approached him and asked "Would you like to dance Jack?" Jack replied, " Wrong verb honey!" They left at this point and weren't seen for the rest of the evening!
*APRIL FOOL'S!!!* Had me going, though! And then _two_ Arnie pics?? Nawwwww. Somebody posted here the actual nominees that year, and it's an impressive bunch.
