I always wondered about this style, having seen it both the Chris Nolan Batman series and Jack Reacher; some of the moves were easily identifiable and familiar, but I'd never seen them used in quite the same manner and flow. The other thing that made me curious was the pensador defense and the subsequent use of elbows and hammer fists; it looks absolutely practical and yet at the same time brutal.
@JoeyBslash3
@JoeyBslash3 7 лет назад
+TheRunesmythe Yea, it's reallky complimented my training in Kali very well so far, considering most of the strikes come from Kali and Silat. It really does a great job in making an instinctual defensive posture of covering your head and face into a formidable attacking posture with multiple options to attack

Herr Nesovic DNA is Andy Norman's spin on the cooperative effort that he and Justo put into the original: Kesyi Fighting Method; now known simply as "Keysi" if you sided with Justo during the split, or "Final Budo," if you went the tertiary route with Roland Madrid.
@Ronnock

Ronnock I dont know what you are talking about. The founder of Kfm are andy and justo, but then andy decide to make his own fighting method. So Keysi stays the same. But Dna is like an upgrad of keysi.

I love elbow strikes and hammer fists, they are so effective and can do a lot of damage ! The only problem I have with Keysi is how exposed the body is, how do you handle body shots ?
@JoeyBslash3
@JoeyBslash3 5 лет назад
There are ways to protect the body. The best way is footwork. Immediately countering with footwork will stop combinations. It's not like you cover up and try to "block" multiple strikes, you enter in immediately. Also, you are supposed to be in quite a low stance so the body isn't readily available to strike
@marcpeschke4061
@marcpeschke4061 5 лет назад
The Pensador as well as the Pensaveo can be used to protect the abdomen but again you are most likely to have muggers attack the head in a street brawl since they are aiming for the fastest ko. I'd rather take a hit or two to my breadbasket instead of my mug.
@arnonym2444
@arnonym2444 5 лет назад
look for the deep stand of a kfm/DL fighter - protection of upper body by deep stand - insta try go very close for elbow, short fast hammers and futher technique - smash enter, control... speed and never stop attac, every step, every move is a attack .. kicks in stand are countered by step into the kick, or lift knee, or by elbow too - elbow smashes nearly everything, kills fists, breaks bones .. I train this for 3 years now, in my school most guys are policemen or first aid workers.

Very nice! Although I dont like Tom Cruises way of making the pensador ( he s obviously making it open for visibility for the camera) the technique Shown here is very efffective. I d rather make 1 pensamartillo to the face and / or a Pensacodo to the chest and 1 pensapatada circular (low) to the thigh to cut of the blood circulation for a Brief time. Going down to hammerfist the thigh or knee looks good on camera but on the street that's the last place you d want to be since the opponent can deliver a simple knee to knock you out. Anyways it s cool that you have discovered keysi for yourself. It s a lot of fun and Seminars with Justo are very cool! Like i said before i ve been training it for 2 years now. Keep uploading the good Stuff! Al ataque from Berlin, Germany!

When someone goes to their knee DO NOT apply hammer fist to the leg then you would be going to his level endangering your face. Also the possibility of your fist hitting the ground or even the density of leg bone injuring your fist. When he is that low and you still want to attack ( especially attacking the leg) then you would kick with a leg strike. Other than that this looks like a very useful skill as long as you are filming a movie and everything is choreographed. Very pretty.

@idahomike00
@idahomike00 5 лет назад
That's not how Reacher fights in the books. He kicks through a lot of knees and hits the nose. Kicks to the groin, knees and nose are the way to end it quickly if you must fight...the movies are a terrible representation of Reachers fighting abilities. Remember, he learned to fight in the streets growing up and in the army...you don't get fancy like in the movies unless you want to get your ass kicked.
@JoeyBslash3
@JoeyBslash3 5 лет назад
This really isn't that fancy at all. He clearly kicks the groin at the beginning and attacks the knees as well in this fight scene. But, to each his own I suppose. Movies rarely go by the book (pardon the pun) when it comes to accuracy to the source material. However, based on what you said, and what the movie presents, I think they did a decent job. I heard the same thing about The Bourne Identity, because in the book he apparently uses Krav Maga, where as in the films, especially the second and third films, he is using kali/jkd material since Jeff Imada was the stunt coordinator.

I've sparred with guys from Wing Chun Green Dragon kung fu Tsais Kung fu Degerberg Academy As well as rocking in life and death situations. You are completely incorrect if you think hammer strikes will just piss them off. Not being a dick just letting you know. Its the primary reason I found the KFM style excellent. I can apply everything I've learned from FMA from a Keysi platform. Just seemed natural and that's mainly from those strikes you infer are ineffective.

This is relabeled FMA. The moves are reminisce of Kali katas but empty hand. That hammer fist sequence is originally intended with a knife. Not impressed. The originator of this art may have been a former FMA practitioner who plagiarized moves as his own. Check out other videos of Kali, Eskrima, Dumog and see where all this came from.

I train Kali heavily, I know where it comes from. It's silly to think people plagiarize human movement. Obviously you havent checked out the martial arts videos on my channel.

@@marcpeschke4061 more precisely her learns Defence Lab from Andy Norman - which is a kfm "spinoff" imho the lower your fighting skill - the more powerfull you are with hammerfists- cause u need exact zero skill for that :)

Bruh, this is all BS lmao, and no I'm not gonna say, "If YoU Get ShOT" BS, this just doesn't work. I do train martial arts, and we actually spar instead of doing all this technicalities and what-ifs.

It surely is. Which is why batman got his ass kicked in dark knight rises. I've always wondered why batman fought so weird in the trilogy. Cause of bullshido fight choreography
