Jack, this is phenomenal! Thank you so much. I’m actually a subscriber to Marc’s RU-vid channel and he actually responded to a comment I sent him telling him how much I loved his work on both Fifi and Roary and how big of a part he played in my childhood.
I love Marc Silk as the voices of Maxi & Drifter in Roary the Racing Car, Slugsy in Fifi & the Flowertots, Tyson in Strange Hill High and the title character in The Lingo Show.
Another triumph of an interview mate. I gotta say, I was walking the dog while listening to this interview, and I acted like the guy who clocked, he was the american Bob, the builder, when I twigged that he was the announcer in Fighter's Destiny. You should have heard me swearing 😆. I love that game, so that was an ace surprise. Thanks as usual for the epic content mate.
What a belated birthday gift! Loved “The Pingu Show” and “The Lingo Show” when I was younger along with the original “Teletubbies” series with Tim Whitnall (who you already interviewed) and Toyah Wilcox on CBeebies, loved Marc’s voice on both! (I can even quote them still now!) Thanks for that, Jack!
Mark Keane at Mercia/Leicester Sound introduced me to this guy but just when we were ready to give him a station imaging gig, we were told he had some kind of cancer and needed to farm it out elsewhere. It's tough when you've designed all of your imaging and identity around what you know this guy can deliver - do you find an imitator or start again? Still have the showreel DAT and CD-R somewhere in a distant box. Marc Silk is a superstar.
