NICE WORK! A lot of guys would have crapped out on the tedious stuff. Not you. Kudos for seeing it through!

''Donn'' I do not envy you your climate! I'm finding this very educational, as I've only seen sawmills like this on RU-vid, and have no real idea of all the individual component details. Thanks for posting.

You're right about the climate. It is intolerable only half a year though. :D Thanks for watching.

People are worried that you will burn your shop down from grinder sparks and melt your extension cable that is only used in fairly short bursts in a below 0*C shop. What next? Will they think you will break your ankle because of the old manure troughs in the floor? Keep up the great work. 👍🏻👍🏻

I have that same 'death trough' in my old barn. I better stop work. ;)

I wanted these to be reliable, thus had to go through the long and aggravating process of fabricating them. :D

Looks like you will have a very solid frame to hold the logs and carriage. Should be a big improvement over your chainsaw mill.

LOOKING GREAT.. smart build from what you called junk... make more projects please!! band saw all the way.
@DonnDIY
@DonnDIY 6 лет назад
It wasn't completely junk though. The trailer material was recycled from a friends garage. The material for the jack stands is new. Couldn't find sturdy enough material from the scrap pile at home unfortunately. ;)

some adjustable rods running on a diagonal from the foot post of one jack up to the frame near the opposing jack would eliminate that side to side racking, a couple bolts to put it on and that turn a threaded rod to extend it and apply tension.. if it became a problem that is

Great build!! Looks great, and you are very smart. Putting this together in my own head, I’m wondering how you are going to guide the saw? Walk behind on top of rails? Or controls to where you walk outside rails and stand on the ground?
@DonnDIY
@DonnDIY 6 лет назад
I will walk outside the rails and walk on the ground for sure. Otherwise I would have to climb on the trailer all the time which I don't wanna do. ;)

Video 6 will come soon. I've settled in a rhythm of a week with the sawmill posting a sawmill video around each weekend while doing something else in the middle of the week. So the weekend is the sawmill time. ;)

Hi! Long time lurker here, I've seen most all of your videos, but never commented. Love your channel, keep up the good work. What's the name of that song in the beginning? Cheers from Sweden.

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you'll stay here also in the future. ;) The song is Controlled Distress - Biz Baz Studio from the RU-vid Audio Library. I usually add the soundtrack names in the video descriptions. Cheers from Estonia. ;)

Do you think a grease fitting would help on those? Would be simple to add.
@DonnDIY
@DonnDIY 6 лет назад
I even bought grease fittings for them but thought the jack stands are not used that often and don't need the fittings. But I may be wrong. :D

you really only need to drill two holes on the bigger jack mount and then four on the inner to get the same effect. just less work for the same result I guess.
@DonnDIY
@DonnDIY 6 лет назад
I drilled two holes on the inner mount and four on the outer. I wanted the pin to be installed only from the side of the jack. The pin in this configuration will be inserted horizontally when in work position and vertically when in transport position which means it can't get lost so easily. And it's easier to insert it from the side compared to the top.
@dakotadomination1065

gotcha. I figured you had good reasoning.
