When this sweet little child said that she says a prayer before each performance and thanks God for her singing gift and that he will be with her on stage, it brought tears of joy to this old man face. She is an angel and a gift from God. People enjoy listening to her for a voice like hers doesn't come around very often.

Unreal self awareness. Some of her comments just flow out of her so calmly and you can tell it's not scripted. I'm just amazed how early she developed a personality.

Yes, she has that incredibly intensity and work ethic when singing. But then she she stops, she turns right back into a cute adorable little girl again.
Remarkable thing about her is that she is not influenced at all by contemporary pop culture at that age (Ariana Grade/Selena Gomez). She sings the songs people listen from vinyl record of Grandma era but she resets and refreshes them to attract all ages with awe. She is mysterious to make me think of God or reincarnation of the soul from hundred years ago.

@@richardblackwell6979 ~That’s what I saw also. On stage, she is not little cute Jackie but possessed by some other spirit who manifests itself through Jackie’s voice and sincere facial expression with aura surrounding her head. It’s all recorded to witness again and again.
Jackie has beauty, poise, grace, maturity, and pureness. Her voice is breathtaking, beautiful, angelic, unworldly, and flawless. Anyone who can dislike this angel can only be jealous.

Folks...If you love hearing GREAT vocal talent like I do...Then say a prayer to what ever God you believe in, for allowing you the supreme privilege...of watching the greatest female vocal talent of the last 100 years grow up and develop before your very eyes. The first time I saw this girl in 2011 I was 100% sure that I was witnessing history. The purity of Jackie's voice is mind blowing......There have been a couple of other young girls discovered by the talent shows but NONE of them comes close to the vocal PURITY of Jackie Evancho....NONE OF THEM!!!
I have read and enjoyed your many comments and observations on Jackie. There are only 2 young singers I have come across, one who you probably recognize (Patricia Jankov.) and the other (Oksana Lepska) you might not have heard of, but I believe you are correct. Patricia and Oksana might come close but Jackie is in a league of her own.
Actually it is the other way around. I recognise Oskana but not Patricia. With Jackie, It is the purity of the notes that she sings that sets her apart at her age....Power will come naturally as she grows up. Whether she will be blessed with heavy operatic power is doubtful unless she really does grow between now and 18-20 years old, but she will have everything she needs. I think but her range is just great. She can brilliantly sing a song like Bridge Over Troubled Water with it's lower register and then upward key change and yet also sing The Lords Prayer with stunning purity in her middle to higher register notes. When I was 18 years old my teacher said a very interesting thing that has stuck with me for 35 years. It is MUCH HARDER to sing purer lower notes softly than higher notes and as power increases both become easier.
"The greatest female vocal talent of the last hundred years"?????????????????? Yeah, I guess she does leave Sutherland, Ponselle, Callas, Pons, Streisand, Martin, Andrews, Garland, etc. In her dust. Let's not get carried away with hyperbole.
RMPsumma Mate you need to read my comment more closely. She will grow up to have a stunningly pure and wide ranging voice She sings classical songs beautifully at such an early age....Sutherland didn't do that... Callas didn't Jackie at 12 years old did a "duet" with Streisand and more than held her own. I have heard digitally enhanced recordings of Andrews at 15 and Jackie had a much better range and purer alto at 11 !!!. As she grows up her lung capacity and diaphragm control will massively improve Most importantly is the range of songs she will be able to sing...She will be able to sing Classical....musical theater....I would love to hear her sing jazz and also really good ballads..but that could come later. Some how I don't think that any of the wonderful female talents you mention will have ever come close to the vocal versatility of Jackie. If her piano skills keep increasing she will also become a very very good singer/song writer musician. NONE of the above also had that talent! But hey if you think that is hyperbole...then to use another saying "The proof will be in the pudding" and the pudding is cooking nicely thank you very much!

Jackie has another "big" performance coming up on July 4th - the PBS Capitol Fourth concert, scheduled to air at 8pm Eastern Time. The publicity says Jackie will be singing "a patriotic classic." Jackie is always equal to the task for these national events, even exceeding expectations. I get chills just thinking about it.
The look over the shoulder was in appreciation of the stage manager's confidence in her and sending the message that she was going to turn in a performance for the Ages. Angelic voice, breathtakingly beautiful....

As usual, the best I've ever seen ! Take this with a grain of salt, but in the future, it will be obvious to everyone, she is the greatest singer in history. This performance should be on TV every night it is so good ! Right now it is all the media can do to make us believe in war and school and hate and fear, but the second we turn it off, or get something real on there, we all will see. I have not watched tv in about 40 years cuz it just seems like one big lie. Life is about love and family and everything else is there to destroy love and family. Jackie will have the first true family that is recognized by ALL mankind and all will come following after her. IMO I am obviously big headed but in the future also, it will be considered okay to give people the truth though many would see it as fantasy or dreams. Dream with me if you like.

Wow, if she was nervous here imagine what she must have felt like in St. Petersburg in front of a crowd estimated at fifty to one hundred thousand. She is without a doubt, amazing.
She told us in this interview, she said she got her voice from God. Of course all the many hours she worked to develop that voice, and her craft, came from her.
A total professional at such a young age. I hope she has not been too stressed out as a child. When you have that kind of fame at such a young age it can be very hard. Much is expected and lots of pressure and she's such a sweet beautiful little girl. Many young kids who reach stardom early in life have strife later. We all want her to be happy. She's given the world so much. She loves singing so much I think she'll always be entertaining us but we shouldn't expect her to be mega star status. Its probably not what she even wants and its hard to top what she's achieved so early in her career already.
"Before big performance, I said to myself : do not mess up, you can't mess up..." Jackie, this is easier said than done. No body wants to mess up. But sometimes we can't help it. Only a person with "off the chart" iq like yourself would be able to do that.

What really is surprising is seeing her in person. When watching video clips of her you don't realize how small she is, that is until she is around children her own age and interacting with them. When she is performing, your mind plays tricks on you. You absolutley forget your listening to a child. Simply because her voice is not that of a child. It's just an amazing experiance. It will be interesting when the Grammy's come along, just to see if they will recognize this unbelievable talent.

This young girl had more sense about life than I at same age, it took me 2 times amount of time to acquire this wisdom she had about paintings etc. Ofcourse at her age I was looking water waves and how they bounced of shores. I always always wondered why distant objects never moved while sitting in a train. I was scientifically oriented.

@StringQuartetFan Jackie helped write the lyrics for the title track "Dream With Me" Foster had asked her to write down some thoughts and dreams and together with a lyricist they came up with that song. In the PBS special Great Performances, part of the introduction of that song shows her writing down the lyrics. She still has kid handwriting which reminds us again that she was only 10 when she filmed GP, but is 11 now....
I would be horrified to stand before an audience like she does. She is so busy I hope she doesn't burn out. When do they find time to rehearse? I love her to death.
