For Jackson, I'm pretty sure one of the greatest benefits of playing so much with David was that, no matter how many times they played the same song to different audiences, David would play something new, great, unexpected, appropriate, and inspiring. Feel free to add your own adjectives.
A prodigiously gifted musician, artist and beloved entertainer. His long time collaborations with Browne and Ry Cooder are truly legendary. His remarkable solo projects and stellar session/tour work are no less extraordinary. You see guys like K.West or Gene Simmons talk about how great they are, how much merch they sale and the RRHF. It's a joke. Guys like Lindley,Browne,Cooder don't GAF about any of that. They have about .01 of the wealth of those guys but 1000x the talent, heart and soul. The don't make money, they create eternal artistry.

David Lindley is/was like Leland Sklar. They just make everyone else around them sound better. Sweet people making music better. They've both made the world better by simply doing what they do.
Lindley took El-rayo x to the highest levels. The solo on Ram-a-lama man is one of the best in the world. He mesmerized us several times and always talked to us after the show and showed us some of his licks. We love him. Thank You David.
One year on , and I still love and miss my True love “ Roger. “ He introduced me to Jackson Browne 40 years on and I sill love his music . Like my love for Roger It will forever STAY 26.10.19 💔

MANY THANKS TO "B.B.C." & ANY OTHERS WHO RE-POSTED THIS MASTERPIECE. AN ALL TIME BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE TO BE SAVORED, REVERED & PRESERVED FOR THE AGES. AGAIN, MY DEEPEST THANKS. DAVID IS OUT OF THIS WORLD, ALONG W/EVERYONE IN THE BAND.
What's strangest of all is that Lindley is playing lap-steel slide on a standard flat-top acoustic guitar, with the strings raised up higher off the neck ( and a capo as well), instead of playing one of his Hawaiian style Weissenborn guitars with the flat, hollow neck. I've never seen him do this before.
VERY GOOD.....................................................................................................................................................................
Eva Ikwoma, starting while in his teens, Lindley won the banjo competition in the Topanga Valley Fiddle and Banjo Festival, 5 years in a row! He was subsequently barred from further competition, but they made him a judge instead.
PilgrimsChoice1620, somewhere on You Tube, you can find a concert video where, at the end of a song, Shawn Colvin simply comments, "The wonder that is Lindley"!.
Does anybody know what tuning David is used on this song. In this video, I see Jackson used the key of C but I’m not sure if his guitar is tuned to standard tuning. Love David’s Lap Steel guitar work.
