The regional theme park company Adventure Landing, which owns a water park in Jacksonville Beach, has been fined by the U.S. Department of Labor for violating child labor laws.
Adults: The kids are lazy, they don't want to work. Kids: It's hard to get a job, nobody is hiring. Politicians: Children and families are struggling, with many working 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet. Adventure Landing: We got this. Government: Enjoy your $151k fine.
@MuffinCHeeler Florida’s GOP, led by Gov. DeSantis, signed laws allowing teens to work over 30 hours per week even in hazardous jobs, while 12-year-olds can work in agriculture. The GOP claims this fixes labor shortages, but it's our kids being forced into unsafe jobs, while immigrants-who could fill these roles-are vilified. Immigrants aren't the problem; it's GOP xenophobia infecting half the population. This is why Adventure Landing did it, with other businesses to follow. Florida, end the GOP reign of terror. Vote Blue so FL kids can get an education and aren't shoved into the workforce. Here you go, now it's correct. You're welcome.👋
