I remember finding this song roughly 5 years ago, when I wanted to take my own life, playing it on repeat and helping me greatly for many different reasons. Almost 5 years later, after a long journey and finding my way back, I find this song once more, so I will say now what I couldn't say then...thank you Jacob. Within this song not only you conveyed emotions I couldn't put in words back then when I was barely a boy, but your art gave me some much needed clarity and relief. Among the many artists that exist today, and those that are yet to come, you will always incomparably stand out to me for the artist that you are and for what you did back then, you helped me, and for that, I will always be grateful to you. Both versions of this song came to me at just the right moment. when it seems that everything is over, or the demons have captured me and will soon defeat me. a year ago I broke up with my boyfriend; I had a very problematic relationship with him that brought me a lot of troubles in later life. this song suits us very well... he released my demons, found out all my secrets and then told everything to strangers who shouldn’t have known what I had kept deep within myself for a long time. Now I understand that if he had not released these demons, they would have remained inside me. If he hadn’t told what he told to those who shouldn’t have, these secrets would have remained sick secrets that ruined my life. I freed myself from my ex, from demons, from the secrets that plagued my soul every day. and you appeared again at the most opportune moment and reminded me that I had become free. your music saved me twice and I really hope that you will be able to save people like me in the future.

In 2020, I faced a lot of challenges including depression, leaving my job, and discovering that my 5-year relationship was built on lies. Adding to this, the Covid pandemic hit, and I felt like I had hit rock bottom. However, then I discovered Jacob's song - Demons (Philosophical Sessions) which has been incredibly therapeutic for me. This type of music has helped me heal and I am grateful for it. Thank you!

I'm not sure how or why I stumbled on this song, but it's exactly how I feel. It's funny how that happens, right? I've been suffering from post-partum depression, and my finace left me because of it. I feel so defeated, betrayed, and abandoned. Im stuck here with my own demons, and it feels like Im drowning from the inside out and set on fire at the same time. I tried to commit suicide in 2012 by jumping out of a moving car, thought I had recovered from that dark past, and yet here I am. In the blink of an eye, my whole world was flipped upside down. Again. Thank you for your voice, I hope to find my own voice one day. 🖤
