Naw. Mase was killing the LOX when they came out. If he didn’t retire to go be a pastor, he would have still been doing CRAZY numbers. The Lox have always been able to rap “I get High”, Knock Yourself Out”, “We Gone Make it”🔥, “Money Power Respect”…they just couldn’t put HIT songs together on the LEVEL of Mase. Especially songs that appealed to people other than lyricists and dudes that only like “Street” music. Like with the Versuz against DipSet. The RULES are “Song for song. Hit for hit”. Jada switched it up with his freestyle and everybody just let it rock and made excuses saying “We in New York”. DipSet owned a whole Summer in the Rap game. When Cam joined the ROC.. DipSet took over that Summer. DIPSET ANTHEM…???!!! That song is still 🔥🔥🔥🔥 anywhere you go. The Lox never owned a Summer in Hip-Hop. DipSet owned the club. Lox never did that. Even in Germany, you didn’t hear them. You heard “Juicy”, “Big Papa”, “Mo Money Mo Problems” and “I’ll be missing you”. I can’t speak for the clubs in New York and them areas though.🤷🏾‍♂️ In the West, Midwest and South, DipSet had it.
