Thank you for this video! Can you please tell me if we are supposed to size up for a typical 1/2 round band that is not overly wide like 8 mm+ wide? Thank you. ( I have a small fingers-6 on ring finger.) I have often wondered what size to start with in choosing.

I would recommend sizing up instead of down, since jade bands tend to fit tighter than a gold band of equal size. Some jade bands do come in half sizes though! :)

Madam, I would like to know about Grayish black Jadiete Jades since Internet does not provide much information about grayish black jadiete jade. Do they always have so much dimples on Surface when we see them under sun light ? I have a piece of black jadiete jade with bi ( disk) form and my jadiete jade have so many dimples or holes on the surface it. May Be you could give any reference where I can find more information about it. Anyway, You have amazing beautiful Products :-)

We have actually had a few requests for a video on black jadeite jade! We’re definitely planning to make one. Thank you for the reminder! The black (grey) jadeite jade that Mason-Kay sells is very smooth to the touch, and it’s not “dry” or rough feeling at all. In fact, some of it is very high quality. Solid black jadeite jade is rare and valuable, so many customers choose either grey jadeite or black nephrite as an affordable alternative. Mason-Kay sells both! @@JewelsoftheTrade strangely enough i have very similar questions, great time to be asking i suppose 😂 im curious all around how to identify grey and black jade of both types, ive seen some pieces on etsy that im fairly sure arent real, but when i asked a seller to shine a light on a piece that was claiming to be black jade, every bead looked like a mixture of black and white, except for one that clearly looked dark green 🤔 so im wondering if theyre all fake except one, or maybe the rest are dyed? Not sure, but would love to see a video going more in on the topic! Ive seen a few "black jade" pieces that look black and white when a light is shown on them but no one comparing a real and fake piece

@@jeffersontaylor6093 In black beads and bangles, it can be harder to see the green hue when backlit with a pen light. Additionally, jade really doesn’t photograph accurately - so it’s best to see it in person. You definitely want to shop with a seller you trust. Do they offer a guarantee that its natural, and more importantly, will they let you return it if it’s not?

@@JewelsoftheTradethankfully for this one im looking at its through a website like ebay so i could easily return it if i found out it wasnt real 😂 im just tryina lay the ground work to gain knowledge on this subject since im very new and dont have a lot of money to jump right into high end pieces! Also, how do i tell if a pieces certificate it comes with is fake or not? Ive seen a few for pieces that ive seen fro between like 20-100$ and im fairly sure they're either fake, or very cheap, which i dont mind, but just wanna know what to look out for!

I have a beautiful cabochon orange jadeite stone that I want to mount. I'm actually sitting in my car with a huge piece of apple green nephrite in the passenger seat. I want to cut a green ring from this block and carve a bezel to mount the orange jadeite stone. I think green nephrite and orange jadeite will look great together. No metal.
