I have one and it had a small quartz crystal in its cavity that grew and multiplied. I meditate with mine and generally just love touching its smooth surface. They have been around since the decline of Dinosaurs. Yup , that old . And some can even glow under UV light - cool !

Yes, it’s true, heat-treated red jade looks sugary/grainy. I bought a cheap “red jade” beaded bracelet years ago in Thailand. The beads looked sugary…you could see shiny silvery, grainy specks in the beads.

I have a red jadeite band ring. It’s translucent and untreated. The red is intense, but it’s not red like a ruby. It’s red with a slightly rusty tint. Similar to the one on the right at 4:01, but a slight touch redder.

What about the hair and fire test? Does Quart too have the ability as the jade? The moral of the story in this video is that they do not have any absolute test method to determine the quality of the jade or so call jade. The only way to find out is to purchase the jade and sent it out to this video sponsor and they will tell you what you need to know. What the point to further test the jade that you have already buy? The best solution is NOT to buy any jade. If you were to buy, then accept as it is since that jade piece have capture your attention at purchasing it.
@JewelsoftheTrade
@JewelsoftheTrade 17 дней назад
The solution is to shop with a trustworthy, vetted seller. The reality is - there is no reliable home testing method to determine the authenticity of natural jade. That’s just the way it is, you can blame science - it’s the sophistication of jade treatment that makes home identification impossible. The hair test can only distinguish non-crystalline material from crystalline material (i.e. it can eliminate glass as a suspect), but it can not help you determine if a stone is jade and especially not if it’s treated. The internet has given customers a false understanding of home jade testing, and the truth is - no home methods works. Jade has to be tested.

@@JewelsoftheTrade I would also be interested in watching a video about the cross section of freshwater vs saltwater pearls to see what's inside each. I would also love to go in depth about mantle tissue in freshwater pearls vs nucleated bead in saltwater pearls. How are the nucleated bead made? Are they manmade beads from other mollusk shells? How are they already round? Are the nucleated beads from saltwater or freshwater mollusks? And how are saltwater pearls more valuable when they have nucleated beads with less nacre around them, while freshwater pearls don't use nucleated beads and have more layers of nacre and take longer to form? etcetera.

@@moonbeam-x1j Akoya shell nuclei (usually) come from freshwater mussel shells in the Tennessee River Valley. Freshwater pearls can be nucleated with a pearl nucleus, a shell nucleus, or an earthen matter nucleus. Tahitian pearls are nucleated with a freshwater bead.
