Poor Ulima; clearly she honestly thought the sultan would love Jafar as a son, but she wouldn't live to see just how sadly mistaken she was.

Even after he captured his father and held him against his will. His father STILL didn't give him what he wanted since his mother died...a family.

Not only that, but he wouldn't even *pretend* to love Jafar like a son, to such a degree that he would rather kill himself than do so. Need I say more?

i feel sorry for jafar, he would be a great kid, if only his father acknowledge him

Yep. However instead, Jafar turned out to be quite possibly the most evil, dangerous and powerful villains in all of Once Upon A Time.

@@TheGreater-ScopeVillain jafar is like belos because both are orphans ,(in the episode thanks to them from the owl house they mention that) and turned evil because they felt betrayed by people who were supposed to care about them.😢😢.

@@nataliapanfichi9933 The difference is that Belos wasn't actually betrayed, but was what he believed in his distorted perception of reality. Instead Jafar was truly betrayed.

I wonder what the Sultan sees when he looks at Jafar? A threat to his son? A threat of his own image? The reminder of a moment of weakness? The reminder of a broken promise? The reminder of what might have been?

No. I believe the sultan sees Jafar only as an unwanted consequence of something he did not regret. Because that's what Jafar's father is. An egotist who does what he wants without accepting the consequences.

You know, maybe Ulima should have tried securing Jafar's future (e.g. take him to the sultan herself) BEFORE dying, so she could have made SURE he would be somewhere where he could be happy. Seems like she was sick long enough to realize there might be a need for this.
@lpallad1
@lpallad1 5 лет назад
Probably Ulima will not have been able to foresee the inhuman behavior of that man, because he will always have been good and kind with her. In fact, he showed that, despite having been abominable with Jafar, he really loved his mother. And that makes it even more horrible, because he knows how to be good, but that doesn't stop him from being evil.

Okay I'm not a fan of this spinoff from Once Upon A Time much, but one thing I do like about it is this character and espechially his backstory. It's well done, and if they still plan to have a crossover with the original show I think this character should be the one they choose. Just my personal opinion.

So many of the villains on these two shows have parent issues but I don't blame them they are horrible
@lpallad1
@lpallad1 10 лет назад
Yeah. But Jafar is the one that has had the worse parent. Even Peter Pan was better with Rumpelstiltskin. He has only abandoned, but at least let him with those two ladies who took care of him and treated him well and they have grew him with love. He has not mistreated tried to kill him, leaving him to a miserable life (believing him dead all the time without any regrets of having murdered him). The sultan is the worse parent of Once Upon a Time. Even Cora with Regina, although she had killed Daniel, she was turned by the bad experiences that had made her what she was. The Sultan, instead, was just bad without nothing that has made him become.

lpallad1 later on we discover that hook dad left him and sold him and his brother to be slaves so he is the second worst father
@lpallad1
@lpallad1 6 лет назад
The father of Hook at least repented of what he did and tried to make amends. Jafar's father, on the other hand, never regrets his actions.
@TheGreater-ScopeVillain
@TheGreater-ScopeVillain 5 лет назад
@@lpallad1 Hook's father did indeed repent. And whilst Jafar's father is still by far the worst parent, he has shown on multiple occasions that he has changed in some ways. He is not completely selfish and consistently looks out for others and puts them over himself all the time, e.g. with Cyrus, Alice, Anastasia, Will Scarlet, Amara, and pretty much everyone who isn't Jafar or one of Jafar's minions. He comforted and stood up for them whenever he got the chance, even sacrificing his own chances at freedom in order to ensure Cyrus's. Later on in the series, Jafar's father even expressed regret for his cruel actions earlier in his life, and in the end even sacrificed his own life in order to save Amara, Alice and Cyrus, giving them a chance to escape.
@lpallad1
@lpallad1 5 лет назад
@@TheGreater-ScopeVillain No. The good things he did make him only more despicable. Because it means that he knows how to be good, but that doesn't prevent him from being evil. The reason why Jafar's mother was not able to foresee his inhuman behavior is because he has always been good and kind with her (because the sultan shows us that he really loved Jafar's mother of true and sincere love). When he tells Jafar to show mercy to Will he says it because he is a hypocrite, not because he has changed. In fact when he tells Jafar that he could not simply give him his love, but that he had to earn it, the way he says this suggests that he thinks you can kill a child just because you can't love him randomly. He treats others the way he doesn't want to be treated, and he doesn't even take responsibility for his actions, and he also thinks that Jafar's sins wash his own. In fact, when Jafar kills Mirza, the sultan is upset. is shocked that a person who has tried to kill has reacted. And in fact he says indirectly "Why did you kill my son? I just only tried to kill you. And, what should you think of a man who, when in control of the situation, is a monster who encourages bullying and mistreates and kills children, but who, when he doesn't have the knife on the side of the handle, aping moralism? And the kindness he shows to Cyrus and others shows only that the heart has it, but uses it only selectively, but when it has no reason to love a person, it is always cruel to it. If he had really changed he would have admitted his share of responsibility in what happened, and he would have apologized to Jafar for what he did to him, instead of thinking that the fact that he became evil meant he was right to kill him then. The sultan sees himself as a pure and perfect person victim of evilness with no sense of Jafar, when instead he is just a horrible person who has collected what he has sown. He thinks that the horrible things are horrible when are the others do them, but instead when is him to does them, he thinks he has all the justifications of this world.
