I can't believe how quick this is going. Your friend lucky to have someone like you doing a proper job, his D type will be one of a kind.

Nice work. Look into buying some Klekos (Aircraft reusable pins for holding together sheet metal.) Nice video!!!

Thank you! I'm definitely going to ad Klekos to my list of tools.

Would think a hard underside then thin sheets pounded to shape on top of it. This is really difficult and time consuming. Great job lol

I did a review of the Jaguar D-type in my channel! Very interesting car! I thought it was a wingless aircraft when I first saw it! Great video to you, epic restoration! Greetings from Belgium!

You are doing a superb job. If you are going to do this for a living you might want to think about taking a holiday in Massachusetts so you can take Wray Schelin's metal shaping class.

Thanks! I've heard of Clecos but never seen them anywhere. I'll try online.

Clecos are great for holding panels during fit-up but I'm not sure I'd try hammerforming something only held down by them. I would expect them to start tearing at the holes with the side loads. I've got clecos all over the place on my build at present but they're just keeping panels in place, not taking any significant loads.

This is awesome, thank you Doni. I was thinking about how you might strengthen your English Wheel. Having seen this build up to here, I know I can make one too. But to stiffen it, I think I would take some plate steel and cut it to the shape of the sides and then heat treat them to increase the hardness then weld the new sides in. I think that could make it 3 or 4 times as rigid, without too much work or outlay. It probably would not even need to be welded out entirely. All the best, Waynos

Thank you Waynos! I agree completely, this was my first attempt making an English wheel and I would defenitely suggest making it much firmer. This one causes the panels to resonate making ripples in the material if you are not carefull. If I make a new one (and I want to) it will also have a deeper throat. All the best

This looks fantastic, I am just starting an aluminium body. Total beginner. Would love to see one of the panels in slower motion to see real process. Regards “ex Rhodesian”

Wow it's great that you're going to make an aluminium body. It is very rewarding and the final product is simply just better. What car are you going to make? I've made a few videos that discribe the process in more detail but this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mYzzEhDT-EI.html is from the Jaguar build. Thanks for watching! I hope to finish this build in 2022

Thank you! I believe so far it's been around 10 sheets (I could be wrong because I haven't really kept track 🤦🏼‍♂️). And they are 1.6mm thick
