Yes I can concur with 2020 HSE air and adaptive suspension its handling capabilities have saved the day on a couple of occasions and the rear warning saved a small child walking behind the car out of view. Its the only car I have contemplated keeping for longer when finance completes.

Thanks for the review! One is able to precondition the battery from the app (from the range/charge status screen), by setting the departure time, but this has to be done at least 30 minutes before departure.

Mine is the 11 KW single fase one. I have a wallbox and solar panels. Charging 80-320 km range (20-80%) takes 8 hours. Other cars may charge faster but I don't think the electricity network can handle it, so it's more then ok. I pay 4 euro electric for 100 km/60 miles.. It leaves new Porsche 911's behind and it's a very comfortable and racy car that handles corners well. Love it.

Ex I-Pace driver, good review, I agree in 21 they should have increased the charge speed and efficiency for range. 2019 S' are now well under £20k, timed my sale well. Software wise been left behind, still a pretty car but Jag really do need to up their game. Good series or videos fella. Well done.

I got a First Edition model in 2019, which was the HSE trim (w/extras like heated and cooled seats, HUD, premium Meridian sound system, etc.). I got the dreaded 12v failure 2x (before the recall) and had to get a tow, once from home (not too bad, relatively speaking) and another time, ironically on the way to the dealer because of the warning messages about the 12v system! When it was in to change the module on recall, I also had to get the HUD replaced and then, they said the windshield had a loose seal and they'd replace it (on warranty for both replacements). But the windshield took about 4 weeks to come into stock from (? probably India? not sure). The local dealer appears to be running on fumes as to Jaguars (focusing more on the Land Rovers they also carry), so no loaners (except the first time). Also, the dash cover bubbled up at the back from heat and that was replaced at no cost (and very little delay). Still, over all, I've been happy with it, and hopefully the 12v issue is now solved (crossing fingers). I've almost paid t off and I'm semi-inclined to keep it, although I go off warranty just when it is paid off. It is a unique car I never see on the road (good, but also bad for its prospects, I fear), looks great, and drives superbly. With my charger in the garage, my charging issues are zero (and inexpensive). It gets about 19 miles of range per hour with the ChargePoint charger.

@electricfocus1710 4 месяца назад
Thanks for watching Joe! :). Put it this way I've not seen anything about there being issues supporting the I-PACE in the future. What I would say is that even though it was designed as an EV it wasn't built on a bespoke architecture and there are plenty of other Jags that will be obsolete and require parts so I expect there will be support for some time. Just my thoughts though and I'd suggest asking your local dealer for clarity. Hope that helps.

We love our HSE on air suspension, 22" rims and performance seats and it is so nearly the spec of the new flagship Sport spec. I think it is a keeper except the range in a Scottish winter but at least it will get you there with the AWD. The range deterioration on the 22's was never explained to me when we bought it but it looks so good on them I probably wouldn't of changed my mind.

I’ve had my I Pace 3 years in July & love it. I’ve also got the 22” Diamond Cut Alloys & without a doubt they make the car! Anything smaller does not do the I Pace justice. Don’t know how you are obtaining 225 miles range though? We do a 280 miles trip to Edinburgh up to twice a year at motorway speeds & little over & at 150 miles, I’m lucky to have 25 miles left! Found a brilliant secret place to charge though whilst we walk the dog & have lunch. I’m going to order the 400 Sport (it looks fantastic in the graphics) next year as there is currently nothing to touch the I Pace literally for roadholding, comfort, space & a ‘proper’ dashboard!! The likes of Tesla, Hyundai, Kia, BMW iX (for a £100k +), Mercedes EQC, the vile Audi Etron & Mustang Mach E are not a patch on the I Pace. Just a shame Jaguar are that hung up on the new ‘imagine’ Jaguar range for 2025 instead of promoting the I Pace, increasing the range and offering an SVR version.

Not much between the cars in terms of range, charging and 0-60. Jag slightly quicker and EQC a bit faster charging. EQC infotainment is better and I would say the seats are more comfortable. Where the I-PACE stands out is the driving dynamics, it’s an exciting car to drive but cars are very personal things so it’s what you like that counts. They are both quality luxury SUVs only let down in EV terms with a lack of progression on range and charging speeds since launch. The I-PACE spoke to me due to its sportiness and it was designed as an EV whereas the EQC is more ‘executive’ luxury based on the combustion equivalent. Take them both out for a good drive! Good luck!

Ultimately the car is the same it’s just the extras. I have the S and the things I would have now that I haven’t got are air suspension, memory seats and adaptive cruise control. These were all in expensive ‘packs’ when I got mine with other extras I wasn’t that bothered about but not sure about how this stacks up now. Bear in mind bigger wheels means less range although have to say the bigger wheels do suit the car. I’m a sucker for all the gadgets I can get but at the time I didn’t want to pay that much more. I had so many problems with my iPace that after having it towed to the dealer over 8 times over a 3 month period I paid a premium to get out of the lease. Issues varied and left me stranded more than once. The Jaguar iPace user group had many similar issues that they shared. I bought a Tesla and love it. Plus no issues whatsoever.

@severnsea3924 Год назад
Interesting review. Seems it can cope with all types of roads, which is basically just the same as most other cars? In otherwords it will do what you would expect any car to do. Sorry, don't quite get that one. Love the iPace but until I can fill up to 100% capacity in the time it takes to fill my diesel tank, I'm out. OK, charging speeds are increasing but the problem with faster and faster charging is that battery degradation increases too, but new owners/leasers won't care about that. But sometime later, somewhere down the line, somebody is going to be left with a very, very big bill. Doesn't make any sense to me.
@djtaylorutube
@djtaylorutube Год назад
I came home in my diesel from a trip and had to go out of my way to fill up and stand there in the cold and wind waiting as long as three minutes to half fill the tank. The night before, I arrived home in my EV with no detour, plugged in and went inside. Took about 5 seconds. I know which I prefer!
@severnsea3924
@severnsea3924 Год назад
@@djtaylorutube It's not so much about that, it's all the other issues that have not been addressed. What happens to the expanding lakes of toxic lithium waste that they don't know what to do with? What happens to the electricity grid when it becomes overloaded? What happens if there are not enough chargers? What do people do who can't charge at home? There are not too many trips you can make where you won't pass a filling station, and you make 3 minutes sound like 3 hours. If you're away from home and you need a recharge you'll be hanging around for an awful lot more than 3 minutes, and in most cases people are having to go out of their way to look for charging points.
@djtaylorutube
@djtaylorutube Год назад
@@severnsea3924 Electricity grid, they reckon they're sorted. See a great video by Plugged Life TV on RU-vid, his explanation and others can put across the points, no need to replicate. People with EV's charge off peak, when there's surplus as it is. Scotland has to pay the windfarms to STOP providing, which is nuts! I concur that there are other issues, people without home charging for example but look at China, how overpopulated they are and they're a decade ahead in terms of EV take up and provision and we thought their government were bad. We have our own criminally corrupt, short term thinking government which doesn't help :) Charging away from home, if you're not aware, there are plenty of chargers but you're probably not looking for them. Apps like ZapMap will show where they are, bit like LPG stations, you probably don't know where they are either because they're not something you use. As to time charging, it's usually assumed by non EV drivers that you charge 0 to 100% and that takes hours but that's not the case, the best way is to do so at the optimum point on the charge curve and more advanced systems plan that for you. I did a trip of 266 miles which incurred a 9 minute charge. It was a bit frustrating because I wanted to got to the loo while charging, get a coffee and sandwich but didn't have time as the charge time was too short. Some people can't plan or simply don't want to plan. As an owner of an LPG vehicle too, that needs planning for fuel stops but that's not so difficult when you know where they are. As a private pilot, that definitely requires fuel planning, no option to just stop to fill up when you notice E on the fuel gauge. :) An EV isn't for everyone or every use case, never will be but then neither will other forms of transport. Just pick what works for the individual, i'm not trying to convert anyone or evangalise, I can only explain my experience.
@severnsea3924
@severnsea3924 Год назад
@@djtaylorutube Who reckons the electricity grid is sorted? Last year they were mooting potential power cuts in some areas because they were unable to meet demand so they've changed their tune somewhat. As for China, they're building over 30 new COAL FIRED power stations to meet the anticipated demand, AND have more planned. Similar situation in India. EV owners want more charging points but who pays for it? The taxpayer. We're already paying to subsidise your EVs, why should we pay to build your charging points when there are countless other issues in the news that need to be addressed? The trouble is, EV drivers who have home charging and have been able to find charging points on their usual routes don't have a problem, but those who don't DO have a problem as has been highlighted in countless EV reviews on RU-vid. These are videos made by EV owners, yet the rest of you keep trying to convince us that there isn't a problem. As you said, some people don't want to plan. People lead busy lives and don't want an alternative to stopping at any filling station en route and filling up in 5 minutes. Countless people have said so on these video comment sections all over the internet. I don't have a problem with EVs per se and I'm not against them, but I'm against them being forced on us at our expense and I'm particularly against the lies that are being used to market them, the basic premise that you'll be saving the planet when in fact research shows that it simply isn't true.
@djtaylorutube
@djtaylorutube Год назад
@@severnsea3924 The question of taxpayer paying for stuff doesn't really work. Many costs are socialised via general taxation. Pedestrians who don't own cars are still subsidising roads. People without children are subsidising schools, people who don't get ill are subsidising the NHS etc. That's how it works. There are plenty of studies which demonstrate that EV's over lifetime are cleaner, just depends where people favour to watch/read outdated studies or current ones. I still keep reading comments from people who think that the UK grid is powered by coal when that's only 1% as I write this. They've never heard of gridwatch where all this is public information. Right now, Scotland pays millions to the wind farms to stop generating because of the surplus, the idea that everyone charges every day at the same time doesn't hold up but anyway, plenty of studies that show that isn't an issue. Equally, I have no problem with people choosing non EV. Five of my six cars are not EV so I'm in both camps :)
