We had a 2.5 litre Mark IV between 1960 and 1963. A blocked oil feed led to engine failure;after big bills, the car was given away. I wish we'd Kept KTV 461.
Wire wheels are simply the best ! ..If you have ever driven a car with them and then swapped over to solid steel rims you would understand completely why They are better ! besides the natural flex they have over Bumps etc, giving a kind of shock absorption effect they also had a kind of characteristic feel when cornering at speed that lends itself to the overall character of the car and could actually give a certain feedback to the driver through the steering wheel that helped the driver feel the road ...typically unlike anything these days ! this is why real drivers love to drive the real sports cars of yesteryear !!
