Interesting match up featuring the British made Jaguar F Type R Coupe matching up against what is arguably the most popular American modern muscle car, the Dodge Hellcat. Weighing in at 3,761lbs, powered by a factory supercharged 5.0L DOHC 32 valve aluminum block V-8 rated at 550hp, 8 speed automatic transmission with manual mode, and a top speed of 186mph, this sports car can give any muscle car all they can handle. Now add aftermarket pulleys, intakes, down pipes and a tune your pushing 700 hp that puts you right up there with the factory 707hp 6.2L V-8 '16 Hellcat. But wait, this Hellcat has an added Whipple Supercharger which no doubt adds a 100hp or more. I have 14 Ftype. I'd love to drag it against a stock model. Mine has a race exhaust, cats/downpipes, and a tune. Gonna do pully swaps and intake next.

@@AboveThaTop I'm not really bias tbh. I haven't had many issues aside from coolant hoses, water pump and just brakes. Oil changes I do myself. For reference, I bought my car used at 60k miles a few years ago and daily it. It's modded, and I drive it hard. Dynamic + sport + paddles everytime. Of course like any car, everyone can have a different experience. Even a used hellcat is going to have its issues. No one is going to baby a hellcat lol. Challengers/chargers are really common tho, so the ftype will stand out alot more.

@@kanob6440 thanks bro. I know what you mean with the coolant issues, water pumps. It’s the same shit with my xk lol. Water pump and coolant hoses had to be replaced twice after I installed spires stage 3 exhaust. Idk when Jaguar will figure out this coolant line issue. But imma stay loyal to the Jaguar and get the f type r.

Awesome! What mods you put in it? Looks like mina gallery intake and a tune? I got an svr with lighter sprints, downpipes, upper and lower pulleys swap, ecu tune, tcu tune, upgraded water pump. Looking to take it to the track and hopefully get under 11.

been about a year. Are you both happy with the F-type and the modifications? I'm only looking for AWD and have had enough RWD on the street. My friend is on the list for a C8 Z06 but I usually get the reaction/60 ft time when we raced our motorcycles (all our vehicles burned).

I own an F Pace SVR and love the jaguar. But that trap speed was higher on that Hell Cat. All he needs is drag radials for better take off and need be much faster.

So you're saying this Challenger is pushing 800 or more ponies and it barely managed 12.5 second 1/4 mile? A stock 2020 Hellcat, at 717hp, a curb weight of 4,429lbs, and some wide Pirellis(NOT drag tires), can do 11, damn near 10. This driver needs to sell it for a mini van because he's trash.

@@stiffmeister0hYeah You can tune the F-Type R & SVR to about ~700hp for pretty cheap. Plus, high flow cats will eliminate almost all issues with check engine lights. The AJV8 is an engine that has been mastered since last generation XK8's & XKR's... So in reality they're very reliable if you can afford the V8, it's almost a 15yr old engine that has only been improved

LOL. Racing a guy with a manual who doesn't even know how to shift. Yeah the Jag won. That Hellcat could've had 1200hp, and he still would have been beaten driving like that. LOL. Just for those who don't know, the current automatic transmissions best most manual drivers by at least 1/2 sec in a 1/4. Get real guys.

Well, considering that I bought my 2015 F Type R two years ago for $40K and a 2005 Ford GT will set you back $400K or so, I don't believe the Ford will go 10X as fast.
