@@jay-ham5649 I agree. He gets some good cars together and he seems like a nice guy, but he doesn't make a good front man. Throttle House is by far my favorite channel.
Audi RS5 owner here. First of all, thank you Sam for letting me take part in the racing! I have to admit, I was expecting to lose by a much bigger margin, what with the 575 hp vs 444 hp difference and all 🤷♂️ I was also really curious how I’d do against the Q60 RS, wasn’t sure how that would turn out! Again, thank you Sam, Jim, Dane and the rest of the gang! Can’t wait to race again!
Would be nice to include an LFA in the race if you have cars like this again. I believe it has the same numbers or close to the Jaguar, and would add with the Yamaha tuned exhaust notes. Most likey the Jag would take it with its modern Dual-clutch.
540 were made ( 500) then 40 Nuremberg additions. The LFA’s V1O is lighter than a normal V8 engine! It would be nice to make 50 newer models with a Dual clutch and increase horsepower by 10% or more!
Way more impressed with the RS5 than anything. It provides you the luxury of a full family sedan while nearly preforming like a 2 door sports car made for speed.
First race of the season and my camera car status was confirmed against these monsters! Thank you as always for the invite Sam, I know the Q60 wasn't scheduled to be there that day, but I appreciate any opportunity to break speed limits on private property :-) Don't get it twisted RU-vid commenters: I was not racing my car to compete with the Jag and Audi, the results were expected. But you never say no to an opportunity like this - plus its a great measuring stick to understand what it would take to hang with a RS5 as I consider building up my new car to deliver some additional performance.
@@adriansierra6532 We’re all entitled to an opinion. There is an RS5 just down from me. A neighbour I know. Not a bad looking car, but I can pretty much guarantee you that a poll would show that most would think an F-type R looks more exotic, is more appealing visually design-wise, etc…My opinion only at the end of the day, but I have seen enough comments to have a sense that most would agree…People can crap all over it about reliability blah blah (which is not true), but it’s design language is undeniable. The F-type R is also more money, so to some degree it make sense. It’s not because you have one F-type owner telling you what you want to hear that makes it fact etc… The RS5 just looks like a typical pretty sedan to me that has incredible performance. Perfect for someone that wants practicality with that performance. At the end of the day, anyone owning either should consider themselves lucky.
@@adriansierra6532 I must state clearly again that the performance of that RS5 is blowing my mind a bit. The fact that it is actually heavier than the F-type R and that less powerful boggles the mind it is so close. Must be that crazy audi AWD setup or something. Either that or they are way under reporting their power number. It is impressive.
I’ve owned a Q60 RS that I modded and tuned to 500hp and 500 lb/ft and now own a F-Type R. The Infiniti was a fun car, but I’ll take the experience and the theater of the Jag any day.
I think the only reason it’s overlooked is the brands patchy reliability. I love the F Type, and other R/SVR trims within the brand, but I’d only own one still under warranty.
@@Brian_RobinsonK11 extended warranty on mine really wasn't bad. Car insurance wasnt any more than my Kia Sorento. Granted, I have the V6 Supercharged, so probably less on both accounts than the monster V8.
@@nickpurdy69 I haven't owned mine long enough to speak with any authority. From what I found online, the F-Types are among the more reliable Jags, while the F-Pace has pretty poor relatability ratings. If you can get a good deal on one, and consider a 3rd party warranty (I got one their CarShield), personally I'd go for it.
I ran a Type R a few months back... door to door until 90ish and it started to walk me (My trap speeds are only 118 vs the Rs 122). I wish I had a clean dig run against him because my ET (11.5) would have made it a very close race but he was able to pull me to his rear bumper before I conceded. 🙂 They sound amazing and definitely hustle. Great video!!!!
I have the older 2016 F-type R convertible. After the Dual pully, downpipe, intake and tune it really woke up. Ended up at about 685hp super fun to drive and the sound is great.
@@brandong2000 I did not personally install any of the upgrades myself. I got in contact with Velocity AP and they sent me to the local shop Chami Automotive in Sugarland Tx. They installed the VAP stage 3 kit, 200 cell downpipes, and E-Venturi intake. Any details about the tune you can call them. They did all of the tuning.
60k car vs 75k car vs 110k car. Put 5-10k worth of mods with a tune on that Q or Audi and the jaguar wouldn't come close. You can make 800 wheel with that Q with 15k worth of mods, you'd only need about 500 whp to smoke the Jag in it.
I just want to say Nissan really down plays how much hp the q60 can handle reliably. Never once have they actually put out what the car can actually put down reliably. 400 is not the limit and is just a suggestion, that car can easily put up 450-460 with ease from factory they just don’t tune it that way sadly.
Interesting race. Just a note about the Q50/60RS - never leave TC on when racing. It is overly aggressive and will kill the power at the slightest hint of traction loss. When I had mine it was routine to turn it off before I ever put it in gear because it was so bad at managing power delivery. It was clearly outgunned in this race anyway but it would have done a bit better in S+ with TC all the way off. 😎
@@djivan831 Always true, yep! I'm happy to have my reasonably priced Q50 with a boost controller essentially making Red Sport power for thousands less.
@@vroomgc its really not. Its a very nice place to be, everything works, seats are great, materials are fine, smells good, Apple Carplay/Android Auto, has a CD player if I want to pump some MuchMusic dance 95. Overpriced...maybe, but its not about the sticker price. I can manage the debt obligations.
I see a lot of comments saying the Infiniti shouldn’t have been there and that it was unfair. First of all, it wasn’t really that big of a difference between the RS5 and the Q60. Second, I’ve never raced either an F Type or a Q60, so I was really curious to see how it would go! But most of all, drag racing is fun to watch at almost any level of performance. I’d love to race a Tesla Plaid just to see how badly I’d lose! I think this channel is awesome BECAUSE you’ll see weird unexpected races, like this one. I say keep giving us odd match ups and unique races!
Wow! The Q60 really held its own on the rolling start, that was really impressive. It actually had the lead for a while. That Jag just sounds freakin' amazing tho.
I'll take the Audi. Fast, beautiful and much more room. The look of the Jag is absolutely stunning but when revving the engine I couldn't stand that hollow crackling sound. I see many like it though.
The crackling really tones down out of dynamic mode and with active exhaust turned off. I have an F Type, and it definitely isn't spacious. Perfect for me and the missus on a weekend trip but beyond that, we'll be taking our crossover SUV.
The f type is a beautiful car and there isnt many about so when you see one its a real head turner cant say that for the many German cars you see every two minutes. The jaguar is quick and sounds nice i love the car a genuine legend in the making .Thanks for sharing the fun 🤣👍🏴
Sometimes you just wanna go hang out with your friends and see how your new car does against big players in the game. But sure, shit on it if it makes you feel good.
This doesn't looks like 131HP difference and two more cilinders, this Audi is amazing. RS6 is 600hp only 25hp more than the FType and I'm sure it would crush the Jaguar.
I think the audi can launch better due to building boost off the launch. Also that audi would probably beat it in a roll it'd be close but the audi mostlikely would take it
@@thatreviewguy6109 the electric turbos fill that low end torque gap to help spool up the other turbos. Great engineering but I'm sure it's costly if anything goes bad in that system. Awesome content nonetheless.
@@DESTcmndr you're very right, I remember seeing R&D proposals of them doing it to reduce turbo lag. But didn't know they did could fit a hot V with twin set up. Especially with slightly lower displacement vs the S4/5. Probably a more aggressive tune.
We need to see type r vs q60s red sport power to weight ratio is similar…btw I work at Range Rover and the reason why the R has the SVR power is bc we are gonna use the 4.4l TT V8 from bmw on our new Ftype SVR. Our new body 2023 range rovers already come with it too
Just goes to show that pure power and Tq aren't everything. The power delivery in terms of rpm range is just as crucial. That's why with even having a pretty big disadvantage, the RS5 was able to play.
I don’t think I’ve seen a more mismatched grouping of cars. NONE of these compete with each other in a realm of reality. What the hell is going on here?
I see that gt500 in the back Sam!!! You planning to put that beast up against something else that i couldn't see in this video hahaha. Love the content man been here for a very long time back in your hay days. Glad your channel has been a success!!!
@@chetantanwar5678 maybe but in all honesty if it's a plain hellcat the gt500 would and should handle it. Unless it's a super stock then maybe that would be better. Hell maybe even a demon 😈
Is there a way to obtain a factor to compare velocity against fuel consumption and price of the car? Probably in that factor Infiniti could be the best. If it is only velocity Porche should’ve been here don’t you think?
You should do the Honda Accord 2.0t VS the Malibu Premier 2.0t that thing is quick! so is the accord 2.0t that would definitely be an interesting race ! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The cars puking water out the exhaust on the "sound check" are pretty disgusting. Run them hot for a while, or poke a hole in the bottom of the muffler to get that out of there. What is your humidity like? 95-100%?
The infiniti is out classed here - but overall aside from gtr nissan/infiniti need to step it up with performance - recently they been pretty weak hopefully the Z works out well
@@briandemons9305 no they need to step it up their reliability alone has been deplorable - the maximas and altimas are old news they used to be exciting cars and the q50s arent anything special anymore those cars used to be monsters
@@briandemons9305 nissan/infiniti needs to step it up they used to be big time ten years ago- reliability is trash esp with nissan - Infinitis are sharp looking but overpriced and underpowered - 300 hp q50s 50k no thanks - i appreciate the power and performance gains with the gt-r over the years but the thing looks the same since 07 - they finally updated the z thank god the things had the same engine since 06 -Altima is sharp lookin also but underpowered the maxima is a disaster with their transmissions and its underpowered - an accord 2.0t wipes the floor with it - dont even get me started with the sentra and their trucks - trash brand lately
I made a mistake. My dumb ass did not pay attention to the year of this Jag. Mine is a 2019 @ 550hp 502tq. The new R does indeed have 575hp and 516tq. Head lights should have clued me in. Sorry
Good fun. But comparing $110k vs $72k vs $42k is not quite fair. Wondering what would the outcome be if one puts $38k to modify RS5 and $68k on Q60? Nice clip nevertheless.
