I have a 2017 XF and pulling that supercharger pulley was a nightmare without a 7 ton pulley puller. thanks for the video its been very helpful! I failed the first supercharger pulley install but now, second time around I got this thanks again!!!
Yes, you will need a tune. There's some very marginal low end you might pick up, but if you don't change the ECU tune it will just vent any excess boost pressure through the bypass valve.
@VelocityAP oh ok I got cha sorry I thought you had said the 58 could go on the 5.0L but the snout would need to be shaved down for clearance. I must have heard wrong
@VelocityAP I already have a crank pulley and am looking into getting the upper pulley and a new tune for that set up. Is there any areas that would require attention to help accommodate for that extra power? Also would a transmission tune be something to consider?
Thank you for the video. it was very informative. What kind of hp can I expect from just your upper pulley on an 11 XJL Supersport? It's already tuned and has a lower pulley.
The upper pulley will add right around 1.5 psi of boost. Whoever tuned the vehicle will need to adjust the tuning to allow for the additional boost, so the amount of power added will vary based on who is tuning it and how they set it up.
Hi Question I have a rover L405 3.0 supercharged Once the original pullybus removed dobI have to mill down the snot end v4 heating up the new pulley on? Or? For the 3.0 It's just a heat up and slide on the water cool? Just wondering bc I read the 5.0 Has to be shaved /milled down Thanks alot
Hi I have a rover 3.0 Im going to attempt the swap. I just ordered the hot plate on amazon But question The new pulley needs to be at what temperature? I have a digital heat gun to read Thanks
When you place the pulley on the snout with the tool, are you pushing it as far back as it can go on the snout? There is no chance of you pushing it too far back and it not having enough space to freely move, right?
