Hi Graham, the pump has a big warning sticker left on it and another that is unreadable but that's it. I found it in the boot of a car that i purchased so don't know it's origin.
Interesting! I have always been extracting engine oil by sticking a long thin tube down the dipstick tube. Didn't know it's possible to just seal and extract directly from the dipstick tube itself. Thanks for sharing!
Hi, thank you for watching and for your feedback. The tube in the video that I syphon the oil from is designed by the manufacturers for that purpose, it is not a dipstick tube. The oil level is accessed / shown via the onboard computer. Thanks again for watching.
Hi Phil, I always let the engine cool so it's workable without burning. I recommend oil and filter changes at 5,000 mile intervals due to possible oil dilution from diesel fuel.
Hello can you do more videos about thia car as i just bought one . How to swap the main battery , and to service the gearbox thst would be ideal and anything that is a consumable. Thanks a lot doe puting all of this on camera ive learned a lot.
Should left both the oil filler cap off + the filter to drain otherwise theres a vacuum then you should have oiled the new O ring before replacing the new filter to save it twisting🙄
Hi Paul, thank you for your feedback. An engine is not a completely sealed unit, a vacuum can only be produced within a completely sealed unit, hence for simplicity and without the removal of the oil filler cap or filter, when the engine oil is drained from an oil sump drain plug the flow is continuous not intermittent ( therefore no vacuum ) as anyone who has drained the oil that way would know. Yes you are correct about the oil filter O ring / seal being oiled before fitting, I do mention that during the video, I do apologize for it not being shown but it was inadvertently edited out. Many thanks again for your feedback.
Oiling it doesn't stop it twisting when the new O ring is on get a pick or a small flat head screw driver behind the seal and just run it right round the seal from behind no more twists. Obviously lube O ring first.
Hi, thank you for the feedback. The tube size is 8mm on that car. Make sure the car you have is designed for the syphon method as you will not be able to syphon through a dip stick tube.
Hello again my friend. Is it possible to show how to replace glow plugs on this engine. I want to replace mine but I can't figure out how many bolts I need to unscrew and the fuel filter is in the way so I can see underneath if there are any bolts to remove that black spark plug cover. I can't find a photo or graphic of their location anywhere on the internet, and a video of how someone does it is out of the question. I would be very grateful if you could help :) Cheers.
Hi Simeon, yes I will do a video for you and post it, I'm not sure when as the vehicle is not available at the moment but I will not forget. Thanks again.
@@crystalclearmechanics Thank you very much. Even today I tried to dismantle them. First I removed the fuel filter along with its bracket. But then I saw that the throttle should also be removed. But there I encountered a difficulty because his bolts are a star with a pin in the middle and I don't have such a tool. Then I gave up because it seemed to me that a lot of things needed to be dismantled.
Why not just start the engine and leave to run for a few minutes after changing the oil? Then leave it for half an hour, and check the level. I've never started, stopped, started stopped etc after changing oil on any car. Ever.
Hi, thank you for watching and for your feedback. The reason I recommend on / off starts is to prime the oil system before load ( it also allows to check for any leaks before running it for longer ), ideally it would be better to crank the engine without it starting. Oil pressure is not instant and as the oil filter has been changed and is void of oil because it cannot be primed due to it facing downwards, the process I recommend will not produce a negative effect. I always prime the oil system when fitting new parts that are subject to oil pressure if they are not previously primed. Thanks again for watching.
@@crystalclearmechanics Because so far I have always put 5.5 liters and on my dashboard it said - Level ОК. I didn't know it was 5.9. And after 4-5К kilometers the car wants to add a little. Thank you very much :)
