That XJ220 looks even better in that gorgeous dark blue! Every one I've ever seen is that silver colour that seemed standard for these. All these decades later and it STILL looks absolutely stunning! The XJ220 has to be THE best looking supercar ever made!
The design is superb that I can agree and that V6 is superb, not many V6 reach’s that top speed without modifications. Personally is a bonus in the end having that V6 regarding maintenance .
@rafaeloreirorodriguez5278 agree 100%! The XJ220 is a legendary car. They even did a XJ220S that boosted power from 542bhp to 680bhp and that was in 1993!
That car aged superbly well. I do dare to say that people will broke their neck’s even more today than when it was launched. And that engine is superb.
Thank you for sharing this video. None of the other videos I found on the XJ220 provided insight on the sporting essence and prowess of this machine, let alone at the hands of Tiff Needell. Truly a mystical piece of machinery.
Is it me or does this car look amazing? It comes out in '92, has it's day and then goes away. It then makes appearances in videos now and again throughout the years as a past master not to be forgotton. It still looks like a new shape- look at it!! Amazing
400k and the electric mirror controls from a granada or ghia specced fiesta. That hollow door clang jees. It was immense for the era though so so huge with those looks.
I think he sums it up perfectly describing it as a 'refined racing car' which is a great way to describe the supercars of that era as plenty featured cheap parts for 'superfluous' aspects to make them a bit more everyday/road friendly. But it's not Jaguar didn't have a range of cars more appropriate for those needs.
Jaguar should bring out a new super car with similar looks of the 220 but with a nice interior like the pagani. That with a modern engine like the one in the new Gordon Murray car.
А всё было из за слабых покрышек, на самом деле.. .... меньший вес двигателя.... и авто... слабые покрышки могли выдержать.... Машина опередила своё время, но была поставлена в рамки ограничений...
It aged poorly, no one wanted these as they were so compromised when money got tight at Jag. It made sense, why would anyone (who wasn't a die hard Jag fan and obviously British) buy this over the better looking, more fun and cheaper toys from Italy.
If given the choice between an XJ220 and a McLaren F1, I'd take the Jaguar. If given the choice between an F1, XJ220 and a Ferrari F50... I'd take the F50.
