Excellent . Ineffably beautiful. A patriot's car. Finest saloon yet made. Spent my meagre pension on a 2007 XJR. Worth every penny. Hallowed engineering art from Coventry. Wonderful Ford input.
You are a Wordsmith. And correct Sir as I am a patriot. I also envy you with your XJR. An awesome vehicle. Soon our time will pass and the Wokes will worship their glorified milk floats, where we thrilled to the throaty burble of a V8 or scream of a tuned V6.
Future classic. I have facelifted s type which is shockingly reliable vs my bmw that feels like cheap plastic crap in comparison to jaguar. If I ever buy another passenger car, it would be this or Tesla. I was mislead by "german engineering" by buying into bmw. Mistake that costed me fortune. Reliability of s type despite having minor inlet coolant leak that I fixed by replacing pipe after 5 years after inability of services to do that (they were saying it's head gasket, engine must go out etc, a d it was only a plastic pipe) and despite car overheated, the engine is still rock solid and that fact made me jaguar fan for life.
Many thanks for your words! I’ve been a Jaguar & Land Rover owner for 45 years. In ‘99 I was lucky enough to have No 19 off the production line of the (new) Jaguar S Type 3.0 ( ‘A little bit of history repeating itself’ - the adverts said. For me the S is still awesome. I owned five, the last a 3.0 SE in 2016 which was a 2000 vintage. Every time I sell one I end up miserable! I also have owned an XK8 4.0 1999 in 2004 and two XJ’s. Soon all petrol Jaguars will be collectors items as the inevitable march of the EV’s becomes a charge. Before I hit 70 I have one Jaguar left I would like to own, an F Type S.. and maybe an S Type R from ‘05-‘07 and and and 😍
1) Not a Super V8, i.e. this car does not have the supercharger. Supercharged XJs of this generation had "Supercharged" written in the outer gauges, and the RPM-gauge on an S/C only goes up to 7k RPM. (This one goes to 8k RPM, i.e. the car is N/A.) 2) Also only the x358 facelift was designed by Ian Callum, thus he did not take inspiration for the dash anywhere because he did not design it. In other words, yes, Ian Callum designed this (facelifted) car, but the car carries over the dashboard from the (pre-facelift) x350 which Ian Callum did not design. The biggest visual difference between x350 and x358 are the emphasized bumpers and different grille in the front, then the side mirrors, the vertical side vents on all trims, different trunk lid finisher, and different seats.
