Jaguar XKR project this week: The rear spoiler on the XKR has fallen off, so we are going to attempt to repair it using Very High Bond (VHB) 5mm 3m tape. I bought my 3m tape from amazon, and the link for it is below: amzn.to/3TCNdGq
Hello Simon, thank you for this video, even small jobs are important. I wish you and your family a merry Christmas. And that it doesn't get too cold for your shorts. 😅
Another satisfying job Simon. I noticed the J of Jaguar has come off the back of my XF tailgate, so I have that little job to tackle sometime soon, not dissimilar to this job. Thanks for all the videos, have a great Christmas and new year and all the best to you and your family.
Hi Simon. Got my car back on Friday. Using the smoke test he found 3 air vacuums and a fuel pressure regulator vacuum, Super charger actuator leak and a couple of broken o rings. Grand total of £2100 later and the car is better than ever. I can’t sell her now. The grin factor on my face when I drive it is huge. 😁😁😁
White spirit slowly softens the glue . 3m tape only realy sticks to clean paint. If you can warm surfaces a bit it helps adhesion. Comming along nicely 👍
Hello simon , satisfying to watch you make continued progress , another good job , may i give you a tip , in future if you have a similar job to do , use a product called tar and glue remover it really softens the old residue without any fear of damaging your paintwork and so much easier to remove the old tape , practically peels off . Have a good Christmas simon 👍🎄
Hi Simon, another great job ticked off the list….. keep the tape and silicone handy as you’ll probably need them for the boot lid plinth, as the fixing studs break as you try to remove it, which looks like that’s already happened on the one side….
