I always shed a tear when these head coaches get fired. They are always faced with the tough decision on which lake house to retreat to while they console their selves. Billionaire firing a millionaire, yawn.

Good riddance. They never should have hired him in the first place. They should have hired Eric bieniemy to develop the guy that they knew they were going to draft with the first pick overall Trevor Lawrence. And they. Knew they made a mistake in hiring him when Urban Meyer's first assistant coach hire was a openly and known racist.

You don't just hire a coach to write Xs and Os. You have to hire a leader, leader of grown men. The leader should be the first to step on the battle field and the last to step into the plan. Meyer should had been fired when he went to the bar after they lost to the Bengals.

I hope they find a real coach to get the most out of Trevor and his potential next season

I think he believed his past success in college would entitle him to the respect of the locker room. To steal a rick and morty quote "you're trying to use Disney bucks at a Cesar's Palace". That currency is no good here Urban and a lot of Heisman finalist and winning collage coaches had to learn that the hard way. But by far Urban handled it the worst. He had no idea how to regain the locker room or right the ship after that

I’m a falcons fan and I feel so bad for that city. They deserve way more than what urban was giving on and off the field.

Bevell is a great guy, he deserves this chance, even if he doesn’t win the job after the interim. He’s paid his dues!

Urban Meyer deserves all the negative attention he is getting at the moment. He is a disgrace and a liar. Now he has a lot more free time to dance with girls in bars. Worst coach of all time who instead of lasting 5 years, the bully only lasted 13 games.

Meyer can join the long list of college coaches that couldn't hack it in the NFL.

So yes, does Meyer get to keep the money from his long term contract? I'm betting the Jaguars will do all they can to abrogate their deal - and I've gotta believe there's something in the document Jacksonville can use to possibly succeed in getting their way.

Urban Meyer pretty much just ruined his career and his image , yeah it’s a bad beat for him right now and Rightfully so he shouldn’t really be hired by a college team PERIOD .

Not to diminish his character. He's clearly a POS type of person. It feels like he has some issues going on in his life. He just seems like a miserable human being.

You can fire the Coach but in the 1st year? That means it’s not so much the Coach’s fault as it is the management bad decision to hire him in the 1st place

This is probably not the first time that the word "loser" and the name Darrel Bevell have been associated together... Bevell was OC when the Seahawks threw an interception at the 1 yard line in the Superbowl with Marshawn Lynch in the backfield. Pete Carroll eventually released him before HE suffered the Urban Meyer Fate; Everyone in the NFL is not completely "professional"...

Most dominant college head coaches are great recruiters, not great coaches. When their teams are just far better, faster, and stronger than everyone else they win. Otherwise they blow. The NFL forces you to coach and scheme. Guys like Saban, Spurrier, and Urban were used to their defenses pushing high school kids down and the QBs having ten minutes to throw to guys who are always open by ten feet. Competitive football is not for them.

College sports are going to be going through big changes in 2022-2023 They finally said something about the top HS recruits going to non power house schools. Since Deion Sanders took that coaching job at Jackson State much light has been put on the NCAA Division 1 football championship subdivision. You have top recruits like Richard Young out of Lehigh got his first offer from Jackson State. But has offers from Florida A&M and other schools. Young is the 6 ranked player in the country. More and more talented players that can play at the big name schools are really starting to notice what Prime and other HBCU schools are doing and the level of play they are putting out on the football field

D Bevell did a great job in Seattle so I'm of the opinion that Meyer is not the executive anyone thought without Ohio state, the job he messed up big time where he was able to recruit the best from Ohio with no competitive university to compete with.
