The moment Jah *actually* went through with the robbery, I knew he was on some severe borrowed time (With fuckin interest at best). His character was cool to see. Love how (almost) everyone practically was fond of him. He had the charisma and confidence to carry himself. He just didn't have to brains to not rob the dude.
the arcade thing was dark af, to see him envision what could have been and how he couldve been there for his friends as they got successful it was jokey but when u think about it, it was disturbing af
It didn’t really do it for me. I didn’t feel like I knew Jah at all and in death he’s imagining what his life could’ve been but it rings hollow cuz he doesn’t have that much screen time interacting with any of the Wu let alone in regards to music so for him to imagine that he could’ve been Ghost’s manager feels random and out of nowhere. Like the show desperately wanted to use this cool video game what if idea but skipped all the steps necessary to make it feel earned or make sense.
@Eddie LM Not really, to me he seemed alot more vengenful and too serious that almost got him killed too but he knew what to do and what not to do....sometimes.
@Eddie LM I'm glad he ain't brung Dennis to rob the Jamaican dude, he knew Dennis wasn't worried about robbing him. He was more worried about getting Rae and Power!
I liked that part too. Did did you notice the video game sounds? It’s the same exact game noises they used in Denzel Washington’s Training Day; from the scene Alonzo takes Hoyt to lunch at his girl’s house.
Now going back to raekwon's first album & listening to heaven & hell again I think jah son was 2 Cent escially when raekwon say "Crazy dedication shout out to the memory of Two Cent Jason"
The main thing that I liked alot about him portraying Jah Son is that this like a visual image image to show that John would be the perfect person to play Toopoetic in a Gravediggaz biopic
Keuntay Clark When you young you don’t think all the way through of something. All you know is?...If it’s something u want? You’ll get it in any way regardless. He was street but wasn’t streetwise
@@SJ-su1ki it was along the lines of RZA making too many decisions for the Clan. Especially after the whole shkreli/once upon a time in shaolin incedent.
Right! Haze was just tryna tell the guys just do what the officers tell them. The cops ain't like the way Haze was in control of them, but he was just helping the guys to not get thrown in jail.
@@91Definite Yeah and Haze was a good person and was nice to everyone. Haze was a role model the other guys looked up to. Down to earth. Worst part about is he was being choked to death in front of everyone who loved him. The A**hole cops just pushed them back
Tribal Sky this is like a resemblance of when Eric garner was in a illegal chokehold.....except the police officer was black..he killing his own people......And yes haze was trying to prevent the guys from getting arrested....RIP Haze
Tribal Sky I think the black cop have some history with Haze and a few others cause they all knew each other especially when Meth was in the halls rapping
High key, Jorge's Jah Son character made me a fan. Hope he does well in his acting career. This scene was one of the highlights of the show, as sad as it was.
@dreadstilldead17 That's what's up, I do get "good dude" vibes from him. Much love to both of ya'll... though I'd offer slight pushback to your red pill take 😉😆
Right! I just wished they could’ve gotten the characters in more 1990 clothing. But RZA EP came out in ‘91! So this is between ‘90 or 91’. Im mad they don’t timeline the shit of this series 🤦🏾♂️
Jason was very reckless 😳 & had a untellingent approach to slave Materialistic attachment concept. Is what brought him to his demise. This is the sad reality we as black folks we value a piece colth before we value the beauty true love. Jason decided to rob another hustler of his gold chain then on top of that he wanted to walk in the community sporting the chain as if no one would recognize the stolen merchandise so foolish.
@@andypacmanperez I'm sitting here trying to think of any song they may have. I'd love to find actual accounts of Jah and Haze, they were real likeable characters.
A friend of everybody...he had friends from both sides.. And his death as sad as it was brought each member just a little bit closer to creating the wu...group this large and influential doesnt just happen over night
Jah Son was AND wasn't real. The real Jah Son (really spelled Jah Sun) was a gangster from Bed Stuy Brooklyn. He was crazy and had beef with everybody he crossed paths with. He was even in a shoot out with Brian "Glaze" Gibbs once. Glaze feared him and Glaze hardly feared anyone. The funny part is the real Jah Sun looked like a nerd with thick glasses. And he was also a 5 percenter. Alot of people got sick of him robbing them in the hood. So he was ambushed and shot dead in the hallway of his projects on Marcus Garv3y Blvd. along with his girlfriend in 1990. They were both found dead in the staircase with the amount of bullets to make an example out of them. I doubt the Wu knew him even though they had tentacles in Brooklyn through Gza and ODB. I believe the Jah Son in the tv series was supposed to be a dude by the name of "2 Cent". I'm almost sure he was actually 2 Cent or a dude named "Case". 2 Cent and Case were Raekwon and Rza's friends who were killed before The Wu blew up. You can hear them shout them out on numerous song's. But I'm more leaning towards the character being 2 Cent because he was a wild dude just like the portrayal in the show.
@@91Definite No, nice joke ! But there was also a real 50 Cent too, of which Curtis took his name for whatever reason. The real 50 was 5 foot 4, very small and short, but was known to carry big guns and robbed whoever he wanted in Brooklyn. He was also killed because people got tired of him. These were men who robbed an extorted people in their own hood, which was never a good idea. He kept robbing a certain drug spot in Crown Heights and they got rid of him. It didn't help that he was also addicted to crack at the time of his death. 50 Cent died like a dog once again inside a project hallway. The rapper 50 Cent gave him a headstone at the cemetery once he got famous. The real 50 Cent didn't even have a headstone on his grave. He died a as a pauper and never remembered. Everyone in his area in Brooklyn was happy he was killed and the nuicanse gone. I believe some Spanish guy's did it. He kept robbing their drug spot's and had enough.
I think it was kind of disrespectful to do that with the whole arcade thing streetfighter I feel like the producers make this into a joke I don’t think that was right that’s just my opinion not like it’s really going to matter right
They should’ve added a part where them Italian would’ve said “good kid my ass” right after the shooting instead of that bs gaming part that shit was corny asf
If you watched of mics and men on startz you would know meth was the assistant manager at the statue of liberty. And also about the we love you rakeem part.
