So this is the guy who helped Sid Vicious beat up Nick Kent with a bicycle chain.

Sadly, yes. He doesn't seem nasty here and now, but two people attacking one, and with weapons, isn't cool by any standards.

As if explaining one's origins was an inconvenience to anybody trying to learn. Firstly, you act as if all of "these people" (which could mean literally fucking anyone, Mr. "I use four-dot ellipses") do this. Well, no; they don't. That's worthless conjecture on your part, or else you wouldn't mind proving it to me? Second, Jah wasn't even making it out to be destitute. He said it lacked gentrification. He didn't say, "I grew up in a third-world shithole", he said, "where I grew up, there wasn't much gentrification", which just means not being middle class. Working class. Most people are working class. It isn't dull. You're dull. For complaining over such monotonous things that nobody else would. If you feel the need to point out these things as dull, I can't imagion what you're like in real life. Probably a shell.

And anyone who uses the word 'salubrious', is pretty much a cunt in my book lol

Because nowadays those areas are full of middle class posh kids who went to public school, parents with children called Tamara and Rupert, and bijou little delis. And a lot of people think that’s how it’s always been, because people have no fucking history.

Punk back then was about authenticity so if you had a working class background it was expressed with pride. I guess being in a band was a way out of what you were expected to do once you left school. And of course many punks like Joe Strummer concealed their public school background as a form of embarrassment - still doesn’t stop early Clash from being fucking great though. But in the uk we always talk about class.
