Im Danish and not sleeping in a trench, so if Ukraine can find the courage and determination to keep on resisting, so should we! That is our moral obligation to these brave people who at the moment give their lives so that we should not give ours! Slava Ukraine and thanks for sharing ur insight, both of you!
No, sometimes he's a fkg mrn, I swear. He's had as many bad takes as good honestly. Dude CONSTANTLY doomposts, then nothing bad happens. Here's what I left him under this video: 2 Videos on Elon from Common Sense Skeptic will illuminate him on Elon's "achievements", which are actually NONE. Yes, NONE. He's stolen credit for EVERYTHING he claims to have founded, like Tesla and Paypal! FFFSSSSSS ALSO, BROE, EUROPE MUST ABIDE BY WHAT THE US SAYS. IT IS THE US THAT HAS NOT ALLOWED STORMSHADOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If ANYONE is holding Europe back politically from helping Ukraine crush Russia, it is the US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From Canada: I watch the commentators on the Ukrainian invasion skeptically. I hope everyone does. The quality, veracity, and knowledge of commentary varies considerably. A comparison involves many factors. I’ve watched both these men from the outset. They are among the best. Many thanks.
Thank you guys and all the Ukraine community. Without your reports and interviews I would not have the background knowledge and perseverance to discuss this issue again and again with my friends and family. This is the least I can do.
yes! two of the best ppl on youtube ever! These ppl and their ilk and some ukrainians who do similar related work have made the internet's original purpose come to fruition after about 20 years of increasing devolution to an abyss of commercial & authoritarian-adjacent blended with new-libertarian/populist/anarchic-adjacent efforts by the monied interests (& their ignorant underlings) including an actual criminally -run Ru regime.
And equally tireless in opposing Donald Trump. Methinks some would sound like a Ritter or McGregor if Trump were in office now supporting Ukraine. It's about left-wing politics first and foremost. I would expect it from :remainer" Jonathan but not from Jake who served in the Air Force, albeit as a MLO - the least sought after duty in the USAF.
Jake, you keep me from forgetting about this stupid war and you made me into a frequent donor to Help 99. Don't stop doing what you're doing. Ще не вмерла Україні 🇺🇦
Jakes a hero. When the dust settles on this century historians will favour his narrative over the complete and provable nonsense of Putin, Kim, Xi and Trump....I'd like to propose a collective term for them: the Axis of Stupid.
Thank you Jonathan and Jake! I agree with Jake about Europe sending boots on the ground! Love Jakes straight and honest opinions! Slava Ukraini forever!!!👏🏻👍🏻💪🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇬🇧
@@506thparatrooper really? that's not he sounds to me. Fascinating that the most obvious facts about actual real-politik rubs your feathers the wrong way...hmmmm. Sounds like u r probably an neo-reactionary yourself and are part of the general group of increasingly violence-adjacent types like we have in the US and who also exist in some european countries. Also i'd guess that slightly along the lines of these N.K. soldiers with parasitic worms, u may have had /have one in the brain, like RFKjr has had and may have caused him to have dumb populist neo-reactionary nonsense ideas which caused him to betray his nation, MY nation, THESE United States. If u r an american citizen mr/ms 506paratrooper, ppl like me have our eyes peeled for any shenanigans ppl like you may have in mind during this election period, and for the entire next four years. Ya'll never gonna impose your will on the actual american ppl who will never ever abide by ANY intrusions into our freedom, such as total bodily autonomy and zero interference in affairs of the body, family planning/timing and ANYthing to do with pregnancy.
yeah, especially if you're a-moral which many ppl are! It's a problem! lol! We have had major problems w/ this in the US over the past thirty years increasingly though skyrocketing over the past 25 years into truely dark moments now. We need the moral support of our like-minded and/or peer nations' people to help us through this difficult time. This could include smart talking heads and writers writing about our predicament.
Jake stands by the U.S. position, calling for Europe to step up its support. I agree, we should step up big time. But the issue isn't just that the U.S. itself isn’t doing more; it’s also holding Europe back. For example, the U.S. blocked the use of Storm Shadow missiles in strikes on Russian territory. Given that the U.S. is a key trade partner for most European countries, this administration has significant leverage there. I don’t know if the U.S. has explicitly used this leverage, but it has certainly limited Europe’s ability to fully support Ukraine.
Was partly caused by Europe, had the Russians not paid protesters in Europe about Canada’s “dirty oil” Then Russia would not have had a good market for selling their oil and gas. North America has sent troops to Europe several times, so Europe needs to step up big time for Ukraine. It hurts to say that because my ancestors came from Ukraine.
Well, in total monetary value, Europe has done more than the US. Its not just about weapons either, Ukraine needs civilian aid just as much with russia destroying its civilian infrastructure and that is where Europe pours most money into. Jake knows that because he frequently mentions it. Fact of the matter is, the US has more military resources to give than all of Europe combined and that is not going to change within the scope of this war. The current issue is the drip drip from both the US and Europe when it comes to arms and of course tying one arm of Ukraine behind the back by not allowing them to use what they get they way they see fit.
That was the U.S. position under Trump for which he was accused of wanting to abandon NATO. Wanting NATO to do more and to stop importing Russian gas cause the German delegation to audibly laugh at him.
yep! and yet what we've mostly seen is the opposite: almost every society that is free is prosperous and those with the less and less freedom are the poorer and poorer. Most of Ru e.g has no indoor plumbing! Not even running water! A russian specialist of reknown on Jonathan's channel recently explained that she actually lived briefly in rural russia where there was no running water! The stories are all real, the statistics that russia prints are entirely fake about its socio-economic status. Same as ussr b.s. Identical ppl in charge.
Thank you, Jonathan and Jake. A very pwerful message . I have never seen Jake be so direct ! We were warned what would happen if Russia won. Wake up, Europe !!
Ukraine has never asked for troops. They're asking for ammo. Americans now proposing that countries like Finland or Poland should leave NATO to go fight makes me question their understanding of the Russian threat and NATO.
Another honest and refreshing analysis from Jonathan and Jake. Keep up the hard work you both do, to get the message out there. From those who listen, who share and who understand……Slava Ukraini!
When Trump & Orban et al want to hand over pieces of Ukraine to Russia does that include the kidnapped children or are they just disposable inconvenient trash to them?
I visited Ukraine, from Australia, one year ago for 4 weeks - 1) out of curiosity, 2) to give some modest financial support and 3) also have Ukrainian language tutoring. I admit I did not do a valid survey but when I asked about 10 people what they would do if the west pulled all its support, 2 replied, after a long pause: "I don't know"; the others said something like: "we have been fighting russia for 9 years, it's our land, we will keep fighting." I suspect there is a small number of Ukrainians who would appease putin and there had been (when I was there) about 2,000 people arrested since the 2022 full scale invasion for assisting russia. But overwhelmingly, the impression I had before going, while I was there, and everyhting since shows that Ukraine is not going to kowtow. NATO and other countries could have given more, and untrammelled support and this war would probably have been concluded by now with Ukraine remaining free, independent and democratic - and probably would be in the EU, if not NATO.
Ukraine won't give up, they are fighting for their children's future freedoms. 💙💛 Ukrainians are so strong and brave, and unlike Russia, they are also a very caring nation. 🙏 Glory To Ukraine 🇺🇦
@@marieelliott8368 As for being "a very caring nation", that is true. I was blown away by the co-operative and generous attittudes which I saw, towards others, and myself as a foreigner. When I was in awkward situations because of my lack of fluency in the language, on several occasions people simply stepped in either with English to assist me or, as in one supermarket, walked some way to price and tag some items for me. I was on the metro about 30 times and almost every day saw people of all ages giving their seats to someone who was more in need than they. And they know they are sharper and more motivated than russians - and that their fight is just.

Hydrocarbons or Uranium. Unfortunately the only source of power that won't tie them to the new Axis is hydroelectric, and that kind of relies on the climate not changing.
@@sqweege6432 Who threatened Russia's security again? Thought so. Stay in your chair keyboard warrior. On the actual battlefield, Russia captured Selydove and now they are about to siege Povkrosk from Ukraine.
@@Red-Check-Mark Absolutely no one! If you’re referring to why countries joined NATO, it should be self explanatory. Let’s me see if I can get your russian head around it. No one wants to be under russian control, so they all joined NATO for protection. NATO is a defensive alliance, unlike russia who just attacks countries because they don’t wanna be part of russia. Understand now?
@@jjj76120 It does to the people who weren't even alive to agree to such an agreement. I didn't agree or vote for the people who would help Ukraine. I want my tax dollars helping me at home, not corrupt oligarchs in Ukraine.

Your analysis of under maintenance of basic utilities fits hand and glove with Konstantine of Inside Russia’s analysis. Before the war, his company built base load power plants.
I don't see J. D. Vance offering to give Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Southern and Central California back to Mexico. So why does he want to give Ukraine to Putin?

Elon Musk didn't invent the Tesla or SpaceX. He either bought out others who had started the effort or paid others to make things work. Elon is a salesman who appropriates the work of others. Starlink built on the work of Celestri, Teledesic, Iridium, and Globalstar, and became successful because, as a subsidiary of SpaceX, it could launch satellites cheaply. When Elon does come up with an "invention" like hyperloop, it turns out that the idea was first bruited in 1799 and implemented in New York in the early 1870s. Elon even expressed interest in funding a similar project promoted by Daryl Oster in 1997. Under patent law an invention must be novel, useful and unobvious.
Also millions of Russians live in high rise buildings and long power cuts will force people to have to use stairs. For older people this could become a major issue.Especially if power cuts last for days.
Great interview again with Jake that guy has a very good ability to explain you can see that he teaches in South Korea 😅 my English is very bad but he is so clear in his answers that I understand him very well
South Korea should send experienced medical people to Ukraine to treat the unusual malnutrition and diseases common to North Korean refugees and soldiers when they become prisoners of Ukraine. Those same medical professionals already know Korean language and can help debrief the North Koreans who are captured and will likely quickly shift from POWs to refugees as North Korea does not want them back.
Ukraine and drones have changed warfare. USA dictates long-range missiles destination, even those made by Britian and France all because it includes some US parts. USA option is big deals because of this.
This is my own question. Why don't Europe support entirely Ukraine, adding it to EU, a big country, democratic ideas and prepared in the war field and a big knowledge of sophisticated weaponry. Europe shouldn'y need to depend on US.
Thats the thing - EU is corrupt as well . If Europe would not be dependent on USA (NATO) - we would not had this war. Europe does not want any war if Europe had its own army Joined army - Russia would had no issues if Ukraine was joining them. Issue is USA and nothing else because NATO is USA led alliance and USA is the key factor.
Ukraine cannot join the EU until it fits the legal requirements for joining the EU (this is one reason why, say, Turkey is not likely to join the EU any time soon). This requires a lot of changes in policies and laws, and these things can take years for countries to achieve even when there isn't an active war going on. The EU is not a country. It is not like the US and its states. Each individual member of the EU is its own country. The EU does not have a military, for example.
John Thune, likely the next Senate Majority Leader in the US, to Amna Nawaz of PBS: "I think that the challenge, of course, right now, with the situation deteriorating there, is to try and feel a sense of urgency about this. I'm hoping the House can execute on getting something passed, ideally the Senate bill, but if not something that they could send to the Senate that we could then act on. I'm hoping that there is enough of a consensus and a majority of Republicans in the House who believe that we need to defend America's interests, we need to stand with our allies, that this does represent a national security threat for our country. America cannot retreat from the world stage. American leadership is desperately needed now more than I think any time in recent history, and we need to make sure that Ukraine has the weaponry and the resources that it needs to defeat the Russians, because, if we're not sending them American weapons, and they succeed in Ukraine, and they go into a - roll into a NATO country, then we're going to be sending American sons and daughters. And I would much rather send weaponry, ammunition, that sort of thing, and let the Ukrainian people, who have been really good about carrying the fight to the Russians, win that battle. And I hope that we can get the political support to make that happen." As President, Trump needs Thune's support to get appointees confirmed to execute his agenda. As a Ukraine supporter who is heartbroken about the scale of Ukrainian death and destruction ressulting from feckless Biden foreign policy, I am optomistic about the future for US aid to Ukraine. Jake Sullivan's departure will be a good start.
