Jake first blew me away back in the Ozzy era and I always continued listening to him through Badlands era ect. . Never mattered what type of music he has played through the years.It's the way he makes his guitar sing and the feeling that comes from it. Just a pro at what he does.

Great interview. I just love Jake's playing, but I really appreciate his candor and honesty even more, if that's possible. About everything, not just the Ozzy stuff. Love his "dry" sense of humor as well. He strikes me as super intelligent and a little bit introspective, in the sense that he thinks things through.
@Katsem

So glad he came back. Always loved his work with Ozzy and Badlands, and wondered about him. Then he disappeared for years. The interviews he does are super interesting, not only about himself, but about the rock scene back then. He's informative and funny as hell.

Damn right. Ozzy is a hack of a vocalist, he has been consistently carried by great guitar players for his entire career.
@FariesWearBoots1970
@FariesWearBoots1970 22 дня назад
No, They're Ozzy's songs, Ozzy actually came up with the melodies, And actually did write a few songs in his career, So what about Elvis? Who's music is that? Because Elvis didn't write any of his own music, So who's music is it? Tell me..
@FariesWearBoots1970
@FariesWearBoots1970 22 дня назад
@@scottycunningham1413 🤨 No, Ozzy has a very unique and haunting voice, Those great guitarists wasn't forced to work with Ozzy, They worked with Ozzy because he had a great unique voice, And these guitarists knew it, They would rather play their guitar with Ozzy a very awesome unique voice, Instead of playing on an album with a typical sounding powerful metal vocalist, You take away Ozzy's unique and iconic voice, Those albums won't be successful, So when you and that clown say 💩 Like that, "I listen to it for your guitar not Ozzy" "Damn right, Ozzy is a hack of a vocalist "🥴🥴You are absolutely sad, pathetic and clueless, No, You listen to it because it's Ozzy Osbourne, So why don't you and the 🤡 who commented that and all the 🤡's who liked his pathetic little clueless comment, Go and listen to Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift 😃👍🏻.

That guitarist was killer the one girl said you don't know who Jake E lee is like I just got out of a spaceship and knew nothing of earth and I felt that way he was that amazing and high energy wow off the charts with the energy I liked Zach but nowhere near as much as Jake he was a great show.

Such a huge amount of respect for JEL. In an absolute sea of guys over-shredding, tapping, and whammy bars, he kept that soul-less, mind-numbing sh!t to a minimum. He keeps it at riffs, uses a hard tail, and keeps it simple, and focuses on riffs and rhythm, which is the essence of killer hard rock music….killer riffs. His music is so much more enjoyable as a result.

I bought tix for the Detroit show (March 15th), because I wanna hear RDC tunes. If I wanted to hear Ozzy tunes (and I DON’T) - I’d buy tix to see Ozzy. And it’d cost me a couple hundred bucks, each. And why?, just to hear “Paranoid” for the umpteenth time? Screw that. Screw Ozzy. Gimme the new RDC cd: it blows anything Ozzy has done out of the fucking water. Ozzy ain’t wrote a decent tune in 28 years. Wait, correction: Ozzy hasn’t CLAIMED CREDIT for writing a decent tune in 28 years. Time is now, Jake. Hope you get a chance to make the most of it. You deserve it.

The more you listen to Patina the more you like it. Great, great album. Darren sounds awesome on it, glad he stayed on. He's the voice for RDC. Ink and water has a taste of Free's Mr. Big in it. Timeless I think. You can listen to Patina 20 years from now and it would still be fresh. Great interview, yet Jake's probably tired of talking about BATM ,& Ultimate Sin on every interview he does. Needed to talk about the NEW album more. This turned into more of a ", Jake, this was your life" interview.

I love the BATM album. Jake is my favorite ozzy guitarist. Ultimate Sin album felt a bit diluted IMO compared to the first 3 heavy hitter Ozzy albums. It felt like a power ballad arena rock album like White 🐍 or Europe. Shot In The Dark was the only great song i enjoyed off of that album.

Killer Of Giants? Fool Like You? Secret Loser? The title track? I think The Ultimate Sin is a fantastic record, even if the hair metal influences are obvious. Ozzy, Sharon and Randy took up residence together In the nearby, but more working class, London environs of Shepard’s Bush. “Above the Townhouse recording studios they had apartments that they rented,” Sharon recalls, “We all lived together there. And it was just fucking mad. Shepard’s Bush is a very Irish area, and on every corner is a pub. On a Sunday in England, the pubs would close at three o’clock, and the streets would be full of drunken Irishmen. So the three of us would make this ‘special mixture’ and throw it out of the window on all the Irishmen walking down the street. The guys used to piss in a great big bowl. We used to put soup in it, and stale old food. There was crap in it; we used to shit in it. Then we’d warm it up on the stove until it smelled. And then as people would walk past, we’d pour it on them.”
