it would only be right to keep it in the family and have him sing in the band. after watching this I wonder why they haven't. it's crazy how much he sounds like him.
Because you never looked inside the Sublime CD cover, he playing the guitar to him sitting on a bed, LOL No harm no foul, we all had to wait and hope and you got a surprise.
God I know he wants to do his own thing but I would kill to listen to him perform live with sublime. It would be so good. He sounds just like brad it’s insane
I have listened to him perform his own songs and did not like him at all but he sounds great performing Sublime songs. That would be awesome if he replaced Rome someday but I just don't see it happening. I think it would be a little weird for Bud and Eric hitting the road and performing with Bradley's son
@@jimritzheimer7465 it would be more than cool, it would be a dream come true. My mom was listening to them with me in the womb, they’ve been my favorite band since I was like four or five years old. Unfortunately for me I wasn’t even quite three yet when Brad died... Rome is good in his own right, but it’s just not the same. I would love to see a show with the band and Jakob singing🥰
Being a really big fan of Sublime in the 90's & knowing Brad had a son I've often thought about Jakob through the years & always hoped he inherited Brads gift & crossed my fingers that one day we'd find out. Today I can say he definitely has. I'm sure he wants to forge his own path, but man, listening to him perform his dads material totally gets me... You were so lucky to have been there!
I really want to thank jakob and law for putting this together because I know that they are trying to be a difficult band while all of bradleys fans are always requesting sublime songs. I know jake loves his father's legacy but he's taking the incredible family gift of song to make his own personality of music and that's ironic because his father did that in a manner as to say that you can't pigeon hole the sound and label it something because good music is good music and that should be enough for anyone.
My friend played me a Sublime CD for the first time once when I was at his house around '97. I was like this is amazing! And trust me, I don't take good to new artists right off the bat. It takes a while for them to grow on me. I told him man this guys is great, I would love to see him live! I can't get enough. Then he told me that Brad had OD'd a year before. What a tragic loss! We are lucky to have his son now to carry on his legacy.
But he doesn’t do his dads song because people lie rhat Rome pulls it off due to some false loyalty just like Alice In Chains pretends their singer has the same style. It objectively is different and at most the real original fans know it just sucks . I won’t go see these bands because their stuck with the emperors clothes syndrome and I won’t pay money to lie to myself my ear is to smart
his mic isn't loud enough, but his radio interview proved he sounds exactly like brad. Rock on Jakob, that growl is exactly like brads! Jakob is 1 and a half years older then me! Sublime generation needs to be carried on, and jakob can pilot that seaworthy ship! ROCK ON JAKOB
They are some big shoes to fill and I'm sure it's hard to find your right niche in that plus knowing the people are watching and you can't help but feel they are judging him~how old is he now let's see 96 ~about 23 maybe plus he's doing it on his own which I'm sure slows things down a bit not having dad's guidance so he still has another 5 yrs to get to his dad's age by the time he died. I'm sure grandpa is a huge blessing. I think he's great I think he's got this and nothing but love from the fans and dad's bandmates! Go jacob! You got this don't over think it!
Like always, ever since I found out about brads death I always wondered about his son throughout the years. Wondered many things but wondered if we would ever see him perform music. I never expected to see him perform his fathers music. I wish him success in his own right.
hes a dam spitting image of his pop if hed just let go whatever is holding him back. my god espicialy when he dose his dads covers its like rewinding time.
Yeah I want to be able to say everything that everyone in this comment section is saying, that this kids is as good or better than his dad, but it’s just not true. The music flowed through Bradley in a very special way. if im being 100% honest, this kid did a decent job performing his dads songs but can hold a candle to his dad's talent.
Is that the chef from vice in the red shirt and what instrument is the chick in the glasses playing in the back left .. anyways lovin the vibe good old nowell’s cheers 🍻👏🏼 looks like fun but people back in the day would skank to something like this ha
I wanna fight whoever disliked. 😎 Holy shit this is awesome. I've been listening to sublime for 21 years and this makes my day. 💚 Sorry not a fan of sublime with Rome.
The fact that Jakob went to Miguel for mentorship before anyone else should be enough evidence to believe who the real surviving heir to the Sublime project is regardless of whether he was part of the actual original band.
Miguel was the manager/recorder/ friend/ extra rhythm guitar player man behind Sublime. He made the first serious recordings of the band. He inherited Loudog, Brad’s dog. He was the friendly whiz behind the scenes who was there in the trenches for the band from what I have learned. I heard Jakob had to overcome some substance abuse and to his credit he is now ok. It’s great he is filling his dad’s musical shoes, what a great way to remember his dad. This band is truly top notch.
