At his 2019 Toronto ComiCon Q&A panel, Jaleel White -- renowned as 'Steve Urkel' on the iconic "Family Matters" TV series, but also beloved by video game and animation fans alike as the frequent voice of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ -- reveals his thoughts on the upcoming live-action animated film slated for release on November 8, 2019.
Jaleel Ahmad White (born November 27th, 1976) is an American actor, producer and writer who, aside from his “Family Matters” fame, was the quintessential voice of the animated video game-inspired 'Sonic the Hedgehog' character in 66 episodes of "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" (1993), 26 episodes of "Sonic the Hedgehog" (1993-1994), the TV movie "Sonic Christmas Blast" (1996), 40 episodes of "Sonic Underground" (1999) and the short film "Sonic" (2013).
White starred in the UPN series "Grown Ups" from 1999 to 2000. He later attended UCLA where he graduated with a degree in film and television in 2001. White has continued his acting career with roles in films like "Dreamgirls" (2006), and with guest stints on television series such as "Boston Legal," "House" and "Psych." In March 2012, he appeared as a contestant in season 14 of "Dancing with the Stars" and in April 2012, hosted Syfy's game show "Total Blackout." White will reprise his ‘Urkel’ role in the upcoming 2019 series "Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?"
